Can you buy Metformin OTC?
Do I need a prescip or can I just buy a bottle of Glucophage OTC? My FIL is diabetic and takes this and told me he buys bottles at Sam's Club. Obviously I'd do this with my doctor's consent, but just wondering if there would be a difference between prescrip and OTC?
I live in Canada but its definetly not over the counter here~

No, you need a prescription and you need to be monitored with regular blood work etc. while on it.
Sams Club is probably on the $4 plan? Maybe that's why you were told to buy it there. I get my metformin at Walmart (I believe Target does this too) because there are certain prescription drugs that are only $4 with or without insurance so that's a huge saving.
