    Default High HCG Levels

    Hi

I was hoping someone might beable to enlighten me. I found out I was pregnant a week ago and am so HAPPY! I had another blood test this morning as my symptoms disappeared over the weekend and my HCG Level is at 65,000 - I am still not sure how far I am along but even the nurse said this was a very high level. Should I be worried that it is high as I have heard high levels can mean multiples or molar pregnancies?

Thank you and take care all

its hard to say, cause you could be further along than you think, so that number is just fine...

have they booked you in for an ultrasound?? With numbers that high, you should definately be able to something inthere.

All the best..i am hoping you are alot further along that you think

Without knowing how far along you are then there is no way to tell if that is a really high number or if it is in normal range for the wks you are. Do you have any idea of wks? Like between 10-12 or something like that?

I had high levels of HCG in the beginning for some reason but only have one baby and he is healthy. Some babies just produce more than others.

well to ease your fears...you could easily be only 6 weeks along.....or so...at 5 weeks and change I was well into the 30,000's......see my siggie..so if it doubles...you could be at 70,000 at 6 weeks plus change. Oh yeah...I had 1 healthy baby boy in there

I agree they should be able to get you in for an u/s. There is such a very, very wide range of normal. Most multiple moms I know didn't have high number, though a few do now and again. Like St. John said, without knowing how far along you are, you could easily be in the normal range.

Ditto everyone else, without knowing how far you are it's impossible to know if that's too high or not. Hang in there and ask for an u/s as soon as you can!

I also have high levels. At 5 weeks 5 days it was 73,800!
The nurse just told me my tests were great and made no comment about the number. They were apparently unconcerned. I haven't even scheduled my ultrasound yet. I'll let you know.

Thanks for all your replies, makes me feel not so alone with all this!

I had my second blood test this morning (48 hours after first) and the HCG level came back at 70,324 - so it has only increased a little bit but not by much at all. Now I am worried, although I have heard that HCG levels can plateau when you reach 7,8-10 weeks or so. My doc seemed a little alarmed so has booked me in for an early ultrasound for Tuesday.

I am petrified something will go wrong. This is my first pregnancy and I am just so worried reading about all kinds of complications and problems.

I hope the fact that my HCG levls haven't risen by much do not mean anything is wrong and that I am at 8 weeks and my levels are starting to level off. I hope everything will be ok, I am so worried

    Thanks for all the advice

I had the ultrasound today and we could see the heartbeat, fetal pole and yolk sac! Seeing the heartbeat was amazing! I will find out in a couple of days how far along I am, fingers crossed my little one will make it! Thanks for all the support x x x

I am in the same boat, I was thinking i was about 3 weeks pregnant due to negative test results on 9/11 and 9/19. I went to the dr today and he told me my levels from my test lst week were 60000! He thinks I am between 5-7 weeks, but I have go to for the vaginal ultrasound next week to be sure.

Well, I had my ultrasound, and like the rest of us, my fears were for nothing! Baby looks great; I was just a few days farther along than I thought.
