Default How soon after a trigger shot do you O?

I had mine last Thursday (the 4th) and my useless doctor didn't tell me much of anything. I have no idea what to count as my first DPO.

My doctor said it's about 36-48 hours, but I almost always ovulate about 24 hours after triggering.

I know this sounds crazy but what exactly are trigger shots? How do they work?

They trigger you to ovulate, force you to ovulate if you will.

If your under RE care they will check to see if your follies are mature and then if they are they will trigger you forcing ovulation of the mature follies so yea this can work for you. This is how I do it anyway. Some ladies may obtain a trigger shot themselves I am not sure how they know when to trigger I only know the process under RE care. Are you seeing an RE?

No I am not seeing an RE. My insurance doesn't cover it so I'm stuck with just an OB for now.

If you don't chart then I would say an APPROX, would be the very next day. I have always went by the day of trigger as O day and then started the very next day as 1DPO. But what I have learned here and along with that paying attention to my body it is in fact approx 36 hours later as everyone says. In my case I triggered on Monday and Wednesday at around 4am I started to get light cramping and it lasted the rest of the day into the evening then subsided. So although my chart said I O'ed the day of my trigger I counted it as 2 days later. GOOD LUCK!

OK. By that method I think I am 11DPO.
