Spotting for 2 weeks, no period for 4 months
Hi I was diag with PCOS a couple of years ago and my periods are always irreg. About 2 weeks ago I started spotting like i was going to have a period but it never started, I did have 2 small episodes of gushing blood with clots. I have a drs appt in a week but I am still concerned bc I am still spotting off and on. I am thinking it is my PCOS and since I haven't had a period in 4 months it is just my body trying to get on a normal cycle. I also have been having hot flashes at night. Any advice or experiences would help helpful . Thank youl

Are you taking any medication for your PCOS? Some of the other girls have had similar issues when on certain meds, but I don't remember which ones. I'd suggest posting this question somewhere in the 'Do You Have This Problem' group, or depending on the medication, it's dedicated group.
I hope you can find the answer you are looking for!

I had the same thing when not on meds, spotting, clots, hot flashes @ all times of the day, brown spotting, red spotting, pink spotting. Sounds very PCOS-ish to me. Let us know what your doc says.Trina (37) Richard (40) Hidden Content Married 05-20-2002 - DS 1988

Sounds exactly like what I am going through. I havent been officially diagnosed yet...but have all the major symptoms. Like you Ive been having a lot of the spotting and not an actual flow. There are a couple times where it would get heavier when clots would come out, but thats about it. Last time i thought i was done...no spotting or anything for a couple days and then out of nowhere a clot came with heavy bleeding for a couple hours and that was it!! Its so frustrating!! It seems its the body trying to start the cycle but just cant quite get there!

I went back to the dr she says its normal, The past year I have been getting pap smears every 3 months because of a bad one with pre cancer cells almost a year and a half ago. So this concerned me, she says its my PCOS and she was happy that I was at least trying to get a period. She put me on Metformin said to try it for 8 weeks and come back and if I couldn't take the spotting all the time to come back in and she will get me on birth control.
