    Default Pre-Seed Success?

    Hi!

My hubby and i are trying to conceive, not much luck so far.. I am starting to question if it could be the use of preseed that may be causing things not to gel..

I was just wondering how many people out there had good luck with this lubricant, and if anyone out there didnt?

    thanks so much!

This is JMO, but I don't place much faith in the special lubricants department. In most cases of women with PCOS, the problem with conception lies with the woman, and not with the man's swimmers. As long as his sperm is okay, there is no need to use it. But I know that some women like to "stack the deck" as much as possible, so to each her own!

P.S. My doctor had mentioned to me quite some time ago that she also doesn't recommend any of those lubricants. She says that they're marketed to desperate couples at a high price, and are really not that much more effective than any other water-based lubes.

Both of my boys were conceived while using preseed.

ETA: It's more about balancing pH than anything when using it and I think I have a slightly more acidic pH than I should which is why it helps us.

With DD1 I used Clomid, robitussin, and preseed and got pregnant the second cycle which was the first cycle I ovulated.

I highly recommend preseed if you're using a drug like Clomid that is known to create hostile CM. Also if you don't make much of your own "lubricant" while DTD then I think a little preseed is good.

I always found that the "recommended" amount was way too much and could get by with WAY less.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "causing things not to gel" because after semen is ejaculated after about a half hour it liquefies. Liquefaction rate is actually one of the tests done during a semen analysis and if you're doing IUI then they wait to wash the semen until it has properly liquefied.

Something you could try doing if you haven't already is, for about a half hour after BD'ing, lie down and, if you can, prop your butt up with a pillow or two. I always needed some help from DH while doing this to make sure no swimmers escaped but I did that with DD1.

I used preseed on and off during the few years we were TTCing. I did use it during the cycle in which we hit the jackpot! I don't know if it really made a huge difference, but I like to think it helped a little bit!

I got my BFP a few months after starting it. Actually, I think the first cycle I O'ed after starting it. I'm not sure if it was that but next time I TTC I'll try it anyway!

I was on Clomid, which pretty well dried up my cm to the point that I don't think DH's swimmers were getting very far. We decided to use Preseed internally instead of just externally, and on that cycle we got our BFP. I really do think the Preseed is what made the difference, but I also think it helped because it negated the 'drying up' that the Clomid caused. I don't know how it would've worked had I had normal cm. It's pricey (I think we spent $20 for one bottle at CVS) but for us, it was worth it.

I think it works. We did 5 medicated cycles (4 femara and one gonal f). The three times I conceived we used preseed. The two femara cycles that I did not use it were bfn.

I want to get in and ask those who were successful... how did you actually insert the applicator? meaning, how far UP there did you put it? I fear I have been doing it wrong, all along lol

in that case, I was DEF doing it wrong dna lol.. I would put it just slightly up there. some would even run to the outside. so on my next femara cycle, I will be SURE to push it up as far as it will go
