    Default Progesterone suppositories causing dizziness?

I started yesterday. I took 2 suppositories twice during the day.
    Had absolutely no problem

Inserted 2 when I got up this morning, about 2 hours later, I got extremely dizzy and I'm still feeling it now (about 3hrs since it started).

Could it be b/c of the progesterone? If so, why didn't this happen yesterday then?
    Anyone else experience this?

I don't know since I don't take them, but I would assume any hormone can cause dizziness. I would get dizzy when I had pms or when I started a new bcp. It doesn't sound like coincidence. Call your doc or pharmacist to make sure.

I started two days ago, and I insert one at night. I haven't experienced any symptoms yet

Yeah, that's the thing, I've done the suppositories before, but only 1 twice a day.
I did the 2 twice a day at the end of my last cycle and didn't have this dizziness occur.

I've NEVER felt this dizzy before.... seriously, not unless I was VERY drunk or hung over.

Thankfully it seems to be almost gone now. Still a little weird feeling but not dizzy any longer.

*shrugs* We'll see what happens I guess. Hoping it's b/c of the bean getting comfy in there and not just a s/e of the sups.

Vertigo can happen early in pg. for a few reasons. It could be an iron deficiency, you might just need to eat a bit more or a bit more frequently. Try drinking a lot of water, eat some extra snacks and take it easy tonight. If that doesn't help I would try an iron supplement to see if that helps at all. I took prometrium 400mg/day for 3 months and didn't get the dizziness- I know you are on a bit higher dose though.

When I was taking a higher dose of progesterone last pregnancy I experienced dizziness about 30min after taking the oral progesterone (I was on a combo of oral and suppositories). My RE said it is a common side effect and suggested not taking the oral pills within two hours of eating. I know that won't help your situation, but knowing it's common might help. My dizziness was bad enough that I didn't want to drive.

Oh no, I'm not on a higher dose. My progest sups are only 50mg each, so 4x a day is only 200mg.
I hadn't eaten when this happened.
I did finally eat lunch, but the dizziness was already easing up some. Still there though. Hmm.. *shrugs*
It will be interesting to see if this happens tomorrow after I use the progest again.

I took the oral progesterone and that was one of my side effects. I took suppositories with DD2, but I can't remember what my side effects were specifically.

Thanks everyone for sharing your own experiences
Haven't had any more dizzy spells since it happened, I still feel weird though.. like when you're REALLY tired and feel foggy in the head.

Just wanted to update that I've had no dizziness today. None last night either (couldn't sleep).
So I don't think it was the progesterone that caused mine to occur.
