Always thin?

I too am "skinny" hate that word! 5'8 122. I fluctuate alot got as low as 110! I've Been TTC#2 for 6 months! With my DD I had no problems conceiving so it's crazy that I'm having such a hard time with 2nd and then all the sudden I have PCOS @couati- I too have tummy issues which I have not been able to figure out but it happens to me 1-2 times every 3 months or so! My last attack was in July and I was on vacation OMG it was horrible! Doubled over in pain, throwing up and diarrhea (sorry if tmi) acid reflux feeling in throat the whole 9 yatds! went on for a while, seemed like hours! I don't know if it's linked to pcos but it started after my 1st child more frequently!! So with this happening every now and then and me just being me and feeling nauseous alot my weight is all over place!! Just can't help it!!! Also after having 1st child I CANT get rid of very small "pouch" on my belly!! Don't understand that either!! If I lose weight I lose weight everywhere BUT my stomach!! Crazy crazy!!!! I had the same problem, I was doing crunches like crazy to get rid of it because it just looked horrible then I found out that it was because I have estrogen dominance and no progesterone. So I started natural progesterone cream and after 2 weeks voila my belly was looking nice and flat as when it was when I was younger :-) . Seriously?!?! Cream and it was gone?!?!? I would be more then thrilled if it went away completely! I've dieted and exercised myself to death! Granted I wanna get pregnant and guess my tummy isn't a huge deal but hmmmm I'll look into that! I always thought the emergency c section screwed me up and that they didn't sew my abs up together!! Doctor prescribe this?!?!?

No you can get it at natural stores but make sure you get a good one the one without yam I believe. You see we as pcosers we often lack progesterone hint which is why it's hard for us to get pregnant you need progesterone, so the cream serves as a bio identical hormone it penetrates your skin, bloodstream which makes it more efficient than the pill (prometrium) which loses all of its substance by ingesting it. There are several forums in here about Natural Progesterone Cream if you need more detailed info about it. But the one I get is from whole food and it's called Emerita Natural Progesterone Cream I believe (Well it's in my signature) I get it from Whole Foods.

In the last 2.5 years I've dropped the weight...I reckon it happened in 6 months..3 dress sizes which is huge for someone who struggled to lose weight. My Dr. said some women find it hard to lose but some drop it and find it hard to put on and that it's a symptom!

i've also always been thin...I used to spend a LOT of time trying to gain weight. before pregnancy i was 5'4 and 100 lbs and i was SURE that was why i couldn't get pregnant. i was using OPKs and figured my body wouldn't O because i didn't weigh enough--my OB said no way and ran tests and there came my pcos dx.

my mother was thin all through life (but had no problems with ttc, lucky her!) and after her last child she never lost the weight...and started to have more symptoms (this is actually when she got dx) so NOW i am definitely never going to try to gain weight again! i will stay thin and people can say what they want...I don't want to increase my symptoms! haha!

I've always been thin as well. As a teen I was underweight (all gangly) at 105 lbs. Now I'm basically smack dab in the middle of the "healthy" BMI category with a BMI of 21 (5'6" and 130 lbs). I exercise a fair bit, but there's been stretches where I haven't and have eaten basically everything within grasp and didn't gain weight. I do have a very healthy appetite LOL I often eat alot more than my fiance does... or most people in general LOL

I think for me the weight is a genetic thing. My Dad is very tall and thin, my mom is has always been thin, my brothers are all tall and underweight.

I do have digestive issues.. Still trying to figure out what that's all about and I have an appointment with a gastroenterologist on the 30th.

I've always been fairly thin - I was always on the small side of average as a kid. Then by age 16 (the age where my PCOS symptoms started to show) my BMI was about 22, the highest it's ever been.

I started on metformin/spiro a couple of years ago and ended up at BMI 16 thanks to the lovely met side effects. I eventually got it up to 18, then worked a physical, stressful job - back down to 17 again. my cycles disappeared for the first time ever at this point too and it was like I had no reproductive organs; I felt fine but no period, no acne, no swollen boobs, just nothing.

Now it's 9 months later - periods are back and regular (phew) and I'm putting on weight like I did as a young teen - BMI up to 20 again and I'm having to work to make it stop there. I'm 25, almost 26 so maybe it's just age catching up with me, but I get the feeling my 'naturally thin' days are coming to an end - this is my first post but maybe I wont be posting in the thin cysters section much longer!

Edited to add: I thought it might be worth mentioning that my family is really NOT a thin one - neither my mum or dad's side. everyone in my immediate family is overweight (both my parents are obese)...and yet it's me who ended up with the PCOS...hmmm...

I've been thin my whole life. I feel I'm always eating; I have three larger meals & three snacks/day but can't gain anything and I even seem to have trouble maintaining my weight. My Endo doesn't want me to take Metformin because of fears that I'll lose too much weight. I'm currently at a 16.0 BMI. I feel stuck as to what I can take to alleviate the PCOS symptoms while maintaining my weight.

I've always been thin but probably always had a layer of fat. I guess you could say I was and still am one of the fat-skinny people. I have small bone and am quite petite so with clothes on, I look thin. However, if I sit down my belly creates a huge mound of fat. It really looks out of place when you compare it to my arms and legs.

My mom didn't have problems with fertility so I'm wondering my PCOS was caused by my mom's anxiety while she was pregnant with me. I read somewhere that high cortisol can cause increase in testosterone in a pregnant woman which would lead female fetuses to be exposed to abnormal levels of testosterone, thereby, causing future PCOS.

I was a very overweight child. I weighed 125 lbs at 10 years old. At my heaviest, I weighed 170. (At 5'5") I have worked very, very hard to lose weight since the age of 14, and now I generally stay around 130-135. I do not have IR, but I grew up eating TONS of sugar, with corn syrup for dessert I truly believe this has caused my PCOS, as I also have no family background of it.

I was always very skinny. When I graduated high school, I was 5'10" and 115 lbs. I tried everything to gain weight. As I got older, I put on a little weight. When I was in my late 20s, I was fluctuating between 125 and 130. Then when I went off bcp to ttc, I gained 5 lbs....my first indication that something was wrong. Once I found out I had PCOS and saw a fertility specialist, he made me gain weight to help me get pregnant. I gained 5 lbs. and got preggers at 140. Then I gained 40 lbs. with the pregnancy. And now (2 yrs. later) I'm back to 140. I seem to be stuck at this weight, but I'm happy with it. I am still thin.

I have been skinny my whole life. This actually worked against me when I was trying to find a diagnosis - I saw several Gynos who refused to listen to my symptoms or run tests because I was "too skinny to have problems." I'm 25yo 5'2 105lbs. The most I've weighed was 115lbs when I was on BCP 3 years ago.
