Default Itchy hands with little clear bumps/blisters

For the past few weeks, I've been getting these little clear bumps all over the palms of my hands and fingers. They're like tiny little blisters, and it seems to flare up worse at night... and ITCHES!!! It's making me crazy! I'm just wondering if this might be from something I'm taking for TTC. I don't know, but it's very annoying. I'm dealing with it only because it doesn't itch constantly... only at times during the night. I would post a picture of it, but it doesn't show up well on the picture.

My DH has red little patches on the back of his hands and it blisters and itches. It seems worse at night, and gets worse when he's stressed. He doesn't take any meds, but when he takes flax oil it seems to get better. He uses Aveno lotion and Petro Carbo salve by Watkins. You can find that in some health food stores and I think in Cracker Barrel. I hope you get some relief soon!

Scabies l;ook it up and see if it looks like that. My DS had this they thought it was just a rash and it turns out he had scabies because of the constant itch!!!

Chula, thanks for the info. It's not scabies though. If he has a flare up, it's only for a few days and it goes away completely. His itching at night is somewhat relieved by lotion, and his flare ups happen when life is stressful. He's had a small flare up lately, and I'm pg, we've been trying to buy a house, and he's got three major deadlines at work that are upon him. He took flax oil yesterday and it seems like its just about gone, and it only started showing a day or so ago. I keep thinking maybe eczema or a histamine reaction...

It sounds like it might be dyshidrosis, which is a type of eczema. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dyshidrosis There is one picture of the palm of a hand that looks like what you're describing.

Yeah, the hand is what mine looks like. I wonder why I would just suddenly develop that? Ugh! Guess I just need to go see a dermatologist. Thank you!

Wow pattoncy, I hope you get some relief! It looks painful too. DH's outbreaks look different. From the name it looked like a person was allergic to doing dishes... would have been a nice excuse . Hope it gets better for you soon!

It looks like there are quite a few possible causes. Maybe a doctor can help narrow it down for you. I'm glad I can help and I hope treatment is quick and easy for you!

Hmmm... I do dishes by hand. Maybe it could be the dish detergent. It's worse in my left hand though... and seems like if that was the cause, they'd both be the same. Ugh! So far it just looks like the picture of the hand, palm up. I don't have any of that crusty, scab-like stuff going on... and I sure hope it's not leading up to that! Icky!!! Thank you, girls, for all your help and encouragement!

I have eczema... and thanks to this post, discovered that those bumps on my hand are just another form of eczema. My bump/blister eczema has never gotten worse than the mild photo you're referring to. The bumps get really itchy and then slowly disappear over the course of a few days. I only have them on my left hand, too - very odd! It gets worse when I'm stressed.

Gold bond works really well on my "traditional" red, scaly eczema. Perhaps it will work on this as well?

Could be contact dermatitis or eczema. I use to get them a lot at my old job. I worked in healthcare so I had to wear gloves and wash my hands all the time. There is a product called coal tar. I found it at Walmart by the anti bacterial cream. I used it for a week, I put it on before bedtime. I ve never had a problem since. I hope it helps.

My DH had the same deal about a year and a half ago. At the time, we were doing a lot of yard and outside work. My guess is that exposure to plants/dirt and sweat spawned it. Anyways, my BIL is a doctor. He dx it as eczema and prescribed him a lotion. That did not work so then he prescribed him a steroid cream....also didn't seem to work. It only seemed to clear up when he would wash it well but not too often and use baby powder at night. All in all, it only lasted for about a month or so. GL!

I forgot to mention that he would also take Benadryl at night to cut down on the itchiness. It seemed to bug him more at night too.
