Default First Period After Soy Isoflavones

    Trying this thread over here....

I have a question for anyone using Soy. I hadn't had a period for well over a year. Once I got on Metformin for a couple months, I had a "heavy spotting" type period, so I tried Soy. After my round of soy, I didn't get a BFP but I did get my period, which was exciting in itself. My question is that the first day of my period was VERY watery, then bright bleeding, then very watery again. I'm now on day 5 of my period and I had absolutely no bleeding this morning, then this afternoon I had bright red and big clots. Sorry if TMI, but I was just wondering if this is normal or if anyone else has experienced the same thing?

I never had huge clots while using soy but you may just be having a heavier period since you went so long without one. I imagine your lining is very thick and needs to get it all out. Sounds like the soy helped!

I agree with the above post. Since its your first AF in awhile, thats why it might be heavy. See what it looks like your next cycle, you might find your body is getting better with each cycle.

They say you can buy it at walmart. I'm going to look and see if they have it.

thanks for the responses ladies! It did stop, 6 day period. So glad! Started my second cycle of soy and keeping my fingers crossed! I was just really freaked out that it was so watery! I thought that was really strange.

HappyWife-you can buy Soy at walmart. I saw it yesterday by the ladies supplements and stuff. It was 6.54 for 60 tablets at 40mgs. What was nice about their tablets rather than GNC's capsules were that they're 40mgs of soy, so there's no math involved. GNC's 50 mgs tablets are only 40% soy, which makes them 20 mgs of soy isoflavones, so you have to take a lot more of the capsules. If I need another bottle, I'll be getting the tablets from walmart.

Good luck to everyone trying Soy!

    Default Soy Iso journey...

Hi Ladies, may I join? I think i'm in just about the same boat as some of you ladies. Im on CD 48 and I'm on my 3rd day of spotting, and my AF is very irregular, sometimes AF doesn't show for 6 months! So I don't know when she may show after this. I have no AF symptoms so I don't think she's coming so i'm just going to treat today as CD 3 since it is my 3rd day of spotting and start my very first round of soy isos, it can't do any harm. I am going to do the 80..100..120..140..160. CD 3-7. I will keep you ladies updated. Baby dust!

Hi Sarah! Glad to have another on board with soy! I did just exactly what you're doing. I had some spotting, one day was more like "heavy" spotting, and it only lasted 3-4 days, but I decided to give soy a shot anyway and that's when I got my 30 day cycle, and trust me, my next period was DEFINITELY a period. I did 80 mgs every day from CD 3-7. I'm nearly positive I ovulated, but I wasn't checking. Good luck!! Keep us posted!

I finished my second round of soy on the 25th and should ovulate around the 2nd of the month. Have any of you ladies had any side effects from soy? If so what were they and how much soy did you take?

Hi Kristin! Thank you for your reply. It's so great that you ovulated on soy? Do you know if you ovulated before the soy, or was that round your only ovulation thanks to the soy? I'm just curious because up until this point I don't think I've ovulated. And last night I took my first round of soy, 80mg, and the only symptom I had was a horrible headache that made it hard for me to fall asleep. But I'm not giving up on the soy!

No, I'm not a member. Honestly I didn't even know there was a group lol. And no I'm not charting, this is my first round so I'm just going to wing it and see how it goes.
