Could plz let me know how to kno if I hav IR? My blood sugar is 70 n 90 in fasting n PP respectively. Fasting insulin is 6.72
There are some cysters w/o IR or diabetes. How does it fit into the 'low GI diet is good for PCOS'? I mean since ur metabolizes sugar properly in that case, then how does low GI diet helps. Could u plz clarify?

Your doctor would have better insight into the IR issue than I - blood sugar is part of that but there isn't really a clear-cut test for it. Those numbers appear to be within a normal range, but I'm not the best at the test interpretations.

Low GI diet is good to help maintain low numbers, and frankly it's just healthy. Processed foods, which tend to be the worst GI culprits, just aren't good for you.

Not necessarily. You'd really have to talk with your doctor and see what he thinks with the IR. Do you have a follow up appointment?

I don't know much about Ayurvedic, but I do hope it helps you. It's frustrating to not get the support you need. Take the time to learn as much as you can - it's important to be your own advocate - and if you're not TTC, don't let that become the focus of your treatment. Good luck, and keep us posted.
