I had been doing weight watchers for about 3 months before finding out I was PG. I'm wondering if I can still follow the program as I'm still in the overweight category. Anybody continue with weight watchers while pregnant?

You can't officially do it. If they find out, they will suspend your membership. If you give yourself the points for a BF mom, it should actually be the right number of points you'll need for the caloric increase need. I have been sticking to the principles and loosely counting points, and I didn't gain anything until after 20 weeks. And it's only been 5 or 6 lbs since then. GL!

Oh, and it depends on how overweight you are. If your bmi is in the upper range, and the charts say gain like 10-15 pounds, it's probably ok, but if you aren't very much overweight, then its a different story an you need to gain some weight healthily. I lost 30lbs before I got pg, but was still 5'10" and at 254. So, my doctor said she was ok with me sticking with that plan I mentioned above.
I can't wait to get back to WW full on and my group! I love it![]()

Thanks for the insight. I am 5'8" and weigh 215lbs. When I started WW this time around I was 235. I would like to maintain my weight at the very least for as long as possible. I will of course talk to my RE/OB at my next appointment.

Your ob should have some good advice about that. GL! And congrats on both the weight loss and the pregnancy![]()

I stayed on for a little bit, but decided to just suspend my membership until this LO arrived. My midwife said that of all the diet plans, it seems to be the most well-centered. But I had been on WW for a year prior to getting pregnant, so it's more of my way of life now, so I know what I should and shouldn't eat and just don't keep track or pay for my online subscription.
Are you allowed to suspend your membership for pregnancy only or can you suspend it for any reason? Also, I think WW has a breastfeeding plan that people have used as a guide in pregnancy.

I don't know if you can suspend it for any other reason, but I don't think I'll have to pay a joining fee when I go back since it was pg related. They actually refunded what I had paid for my etools, though.
Yes, they do acknowledge the need for more calories during bf, and I think they give nursing moms 14 additional points and suggest more dairy in their daily servings. It's a pretty good plan and I'm looking forward to going back.

I'm not sure what other reasons they will allow you to suspend your account. I was shocked they refunded me for an entire month when I told them I was pregnant. The lady asked when I was due and must have counted back and refunded back January and February's payments. I was online only, though. I think you get 14 points for exclusive BFing, and 7 if you're supplementing or doing solids.

Its called pregnancy pause when you are pregnant, and if you go back within 6 weeks of having the baby you just pick up where you left off and there is no re-joining fee.![]()
