Default Anthem- Great Coverage for Fertility-Suprised

I was pleasantly supprised ot hear from my RE's office that any diagnosis and treatment- except IUI, IVF, and GIFT would be covered. Just picked up my first dose of Femera and my refill of Metformin- $19.00. I'm in Southwest Ohio...not sure if that matters on how insurance is covered.

It's crazy what the bills are for the treatment, I wouldn't be able to do this without our insurance.

Any of you suprised by what your insurance will/wont' cover?

Mine covers everything - including IVF - but they won't cover the $100 ovidrel shot.

I have Aetna. It's a function of my employer, a household name in Corporate America. The only pre-requisite was that I call and "enroll" in an Infertility Program. It was a 10 minute call giving vital statistics to a nurse (age, weight, height, etc) and that was it. I was surprised at my first RE's appt, so was the admissions counselor, when they said they cover everything. I have a $1,000 deductible, so it's not technically fully covered, but I could have IVF for 12 months in the year for $1,000 total. Glad to see that chunk out of my check each week goes for something.

I was kinda like, WTF? when they didn't cover the ovidrel though. It's $100, so I just deal with it. It's not worth the fight for me.
