IVF: two weeks of birth control + metformin- what's next?
I'm unclear about the timeline for IVF. I started today taking birth control pills + Metformin for two weeks (day 2 of cycle) so do the injections start at the beginning of the next cycle? Thanks!
Also, I had my exam today and even though about 6 months ago I had no cysts at all, today during my exam the Dr showed me that my ovaries were again covered in them.

I am actually finishing the last of my bcp but I start my injections next week.
Diagnosed June 2008
Round 1 September >Femara and Ovidrel=BFN
Round 2 October>Femara and Ovidrel=BFN
Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy Both tubes are blocked
Ivf cycle #2 BFP......Nov12th still in shock!!!
Beta #1....45 Beta#2.....94. M/c at 6 weeks
March fet betta #1 70 beta #2 7(chemical)
Did you start the bcp at the same time, like day 1 or two of the cycle? I'm just not understanding how the timing works- when things are done/how far apart. Thanks!

Yeah I started bcp on day 2.To be honest me too I just dont get it to save my life.

They said a nurse would call me on Monday with the next steps so I'm wondering if injections come right after the bcp? How long do you do the injections for? Thanks for helping!

Oh no prob glad I actually can.From what my doc told me you do them for a week but before that my doc did a saline trialtransfer and u/s to check my cervix and uterus to make sure nothing would stop the embryos.

When in the cycle do they do the transfer? Isn't it at ovulation, like your next cycle then? I did injections for IUI but that was 8 years ago and I just can't remember any of it. lol

Thats ok Im still learning its all new to me too they can do it on day 3 or 5 after the retrieval.They supress your ovulation up until like a day or 2 before the transfer and u do the ovidrel or whatever they have you on injection and it releases the eggs

Hey y'all!
I started bc last friday. My timeline per my REI is as follows:
BC for two weeks (April 6-19th) April 23rd baseline ultrasound and lab work (estradiol). Start stims that night if all is well. Stim for 10 days. Tentative egg retrieval May4th. Hoping for day 5 transfer.
My meds are:
metformin, vit D, baby asa, juice plus
Follistim, menopur, HCG, cetrotide, endometrin, medrol and estrace.
