    Default Inositol while pregnant?

I'm assuming that inositol is safe while pregnant? I never took metformin when I was pregnant the last two times, even though that's how I got pregnant. This time, I got pregnant from Femara, so I'm wanting to be careful about how my insulin is being processed for this pregnancy. So, my questions are: Is it safe? How much should I take? Is it better to take during one trimester but not another? Or does it matter? Has anyone taken it during a pregnancy before?

I stopped taking it at ovulation on the cycle I got pregnant with DS. I did continue my Metformin though, as my OB felt it would be beneficial for preventing GD.

I don't know if it's safe or not, but I would consult your doctor.

I was just doing a bit of research while waiting for my doc to call me back and Brewer's Yeast is a great source of inositol, B vitamins, and folic acid. I will try to diversify the kind of inositol I'm taking (and I'm not taking a prenatal vitamin, just eating more folate.)

I just read something about inositol vs metformin while pregnant and it said it worked just as good as metformin. I stopped taking my metformin in early pregnant because of morning sickness making it impossible to keep down. I'll see if I can find what I read about it.

Sorry can't seem to find it.. thought I sent it to my email... Anyway they were comparing the two during pregnancy so I'd think it'd be just as safe as metformin to take while pregnant. Of course talking to your OB is probably the best advice vs anything you read on the internet

I spoke with my RE yesterday and he said it should be fine to take as well. It is a good replacement for met becahuse it doesn't come with side effects! I'll probably only take 500 mg, though.
