Default Vitex and Femara? And bleeding...

If I do not take vitex, I tend to bleed during the month. I know I've read somewhere here that vitex and femara is a "no-no", so I'm wondering if someone can explain that better to me? I am doing a Femara cycle, today is CD8 and I am still bleeding. I'm worried that if I don't stop soon, this cycle will be a bust simply because of the bleeding. I don't even know if I can ovulate while bleeding? Or if Dh's sperm can survive long enough if I do ovulate? So, I'm thinking about taking the vitex to stop the bleeding (my last day of Femara was yesterday). Help?

Could you have had really thick lining this go round? After I reset from a few months of no AF I usually have a solid week of heavy AF (8 days at the longest, 6 days at the shortest) and have O'd cd 17 and cd19. Are you working with an OB or RE? If so, I would give them a call and see what they suggest... otherwise just wait it out a day or two! you might have a longer cycle but still O!

Thanks Nessa. I love my new Dr, but she's really put me on unmonitored cycles for the next 3 months. My next appt is in July. And I hate calling in when I know their attitude will be "wait and see". I can get that advice here...and for free! LOL I did have a really thick lining...I'm hoping that is all, but I have had where I wouldn't stop bleeding for months on end and the vitex has been what has helped. I think I'll do just that, though - wait and see for a few more days. Then I'll be back here to complain. LOL I really lack patience with my body. LOL

Vitex is trying to balance hormones and femara is trying to increase estrogen - so they can work against each other. Femara tries to convince your body its not making estrogen to produce more- you should not take them together.

I hate unmonitored cycles. I would still call your doc about it too, at least if it is very heavy or if it doesn't stop in a few more days. You're not likely to ovulate sooner than 5-10 days after the last pill, so you still have time, but if you're still bleeding when you O I don't think that's a good thing. And if your lining is too thick, that can cause problems too. Delicate balance is needed to get pregnant! But definitely stay off the vitex, don't want to make a bad situation worse.
