    Default Hysteroscopy/D&C Question...

If anyone here has ever had a hysteroscopy/D&C done, did the bleeding go away and then return almost like you were getting AF? The day of the surgery until Sunday, it was really light spotting that I experienced and then last night it was just about gone. This morning, I started bleeding again and this afternoon I have what feels like AF cramps and a medium flow. Is this AF or remnants from the surgery on Friday?

I've only had a D&C after a m/c so it may work differently, but I bled for about two weeks after.

I haD both hysteroscopy and D&C to remove my polyp. When i wake up then there was a bleeding on the sheet. I was having lots of pain, they gave me Tylenol and juice.

After the pill, i was feeling ok, infact i went for lunch outside with my husband after leaving hospital. I had very light bleeding for the day. I was normal next day. In the instruction sheet, it was mentioned that if you bleed more than certain days then report to the office.. I do not remember how many days.. call your office..

If you had a D&C, I suspect that you're not having an actual period - you wouldn't have much lining left to shed. What you are more likely experiencing is your uterus bleeding a bit from surgery with possibly some mucus mixed in. I bled spotty to mostly lightly for about 7-10 days after my D&C (spotting only for about 2 days after hysteroscopy).

If you think it's heavier than it should be, call your doc and check.

I've already called the RE's office and I'm waiting for a call back. I'm thinking it's just the remnants from the procedure. I don't have a fever or anything. It says you can bleed for up to 10 days after. Hopefully they get back to me soon.

Thanks Justine. It's really just a medium flow. Nothing too crazy.

Is it possible that i did not have D&C? And just a Hysteroscopy.. Can you remove polyp without D&C? My doc's office never mentioned D&C but told me that they have removed a polyp.

They actually remove the polyps during the hysteroscopy. I had an really thick uterine lining, so they did a D&C as well. I'm not sure that everyone who has a hysteroscopy has a D&C.

BTW, my RE's office just called and said that bleeding can be intermittent after surgery and that a medium AF type flow is okay. As long as I'm not changing my pad once or more an hour, I'm good to go.

Polyps can be removed during either procedure and you do not have to have both at the same time.
