Question Any relation between PCOS and tubal ligation

Can anyone tell me if there is a link between PCOS and tubal ligation. I had a tubal a few years ago,and it seems my symptoms got worse AFTER the tubal!

I really don't think there's a connection because it's your ovaries that are the problem with PCOS, not your tubes.

There has been a correlation between pregnancy and PCOS. . .did you happen to get your tubal after your last pregnancy?

    Default actually a while after

I got my tubal at least a year after my last pregnancy, In fact, come to think of it, They symptoms I was having is part of the reason I had the tubal. I had severe fatigue, hair falling out, no periods, very heavy ones when I did have them, weight gain, joint pain, depression. And without getting any answers from the docs why I was doing all this, we decided not to have nay more children. My dh was afraid it would be too hard on me.

But, I do know the symptoms got worse after the tubal, and I asked my then doc about PCOS, and she said no way because I have kids. And at that time, my ovaries were fine.

I just got the ovaries diagnosed last week! SO, My new doc put me on Met, to see if it helps.

It sounds to me that you probably had PCOS all along and the pregnancy(ies) just brought it out of hiding. I've read that many women have reported the same thing. Just because you were able to conceive does in no way mean you didn't have PCOS.

My pregnancy made my PCOS much worse - so it does sound like it was the initiating factor, not the tubal ligation...

My preg also caused my PCOS issue to go out of control.
I had my tubal a year after my son's birth and things got much worse.

I developed endometreosis. No one knows if it was caused by the surgery adhesions or from cysts developing and bursting.(Never had problems with ovaries until AFTER tubal)

So who knows which came first for sure.
I know I have suffered since.
