Hello ladies.
I am from the Lloydminster area and recently learned of a new gyno that I thought I would try for some PCOS answers. His name is Dr O. Ajegbo at the Border City clinic. He was absolutely awful. I described some symptoms including ovarian pain and he literally laughed at me and told me that PCOS is not a painful disease. Also, my husband had come with me for support and Dr. Ajegbo talked to my husband the whole time and rarely even glanced at me, even going so far as to ask my husband for the decisions concerning my disease. Dr. Ajegbo even went so far as to tell me that he is well versed in PCOS because his sister has the disease. I am very disgusted at him and want to warn you.
DO NOT GO TO DR. AJEGBO at Border City Clinic for PCOS unless you want to get laughed at and insulted by him.

Hi Ladies!
Does anyone know of a good Dr in Hamilton, ON, or surrounding area? I don't want to have to go all the way into Toronto if I can avoid it. I live and work in Hamilton, not TTC, and my family dr is incredibly unhelpful. I need a new pcos-friendly gp and maybe an endo or something who will help me even though I'm not TTC. I need to get this under control. Thanks.

I just recieved my appt for the CReAtIVF Fertility Centre that is affiliated with Sunnybrook and U of Toronto. My referral when in on Feb 2nd and my appt is Feb 27th (I like that!!)...I LOVED this place when I first started going in 2004 and was seeing Dr.Laredo...we were not trying to get pregnant then so they couldn't do much but steer me in the right direction in terms of diet /exercise. I am hoping my experience is the same when we go back at the end of the month to start our TTC journey. Dr. Laredo is not there any more, I am seeing a Dr. Dar (filling in for the RE on mat leave) so I am hoping in is good! ( I will update once I go)...

I'm looking for a doctor in Edmonton. My family doctor diagnosed me almost two years ago, and has no suggestions or tips, and she won't refer me to anyone. Help?

Bttrcp: asked to be refered to the Womans Endocrine and Fertility Clinic at the Royal Alex hospital. I see Dr. Ivana Tataryn there.She is really blunt/factual, and the nurses are all really great

I thought Dr. Tataryn was only seeing patients who wanted to get pregnant; i used to see her but i was told i couldn't go to her for any help/or check ups unless i was trying. anyone know of a Endo who will just help you manage and chekc up on your pcos, without the whole pregnancy issue? we don't want to have kids at this point but i would like to manage this condition better; i was thinking of going to a good Naturopath, anyone know a good one in Edmonton? i had one in Calgary and now he's moved to the states.

When heading to a dr. i was a little nervous. I had been told by a friend with PCOS that alot of Dr's haven't even heard of it, so i really didn't know what to expect. When we talked about what was going on one of the first things out of his mouth was PCOS. I've seen him many in the last couple months regarding this and has been great. A very friendly person.

I have a wonderful familiy doctor in Kitchener-Waterloo. A good gyn for pcos might be dr Fraser in Guelph but you need to like his style. I am also currently seeing dr Hughes of One Fertility in Burlington.

That is aweful! My regular doctor, Dr. Paul Naude has gone on a 2 week holiday 3 weeks before my due Date and I have to see Dr. Ajegbo instead. I was already nervous to be seeing an unfarmiliar Doctor for the reasons I don't like Doctors messing with my health, If he treats me this way I will walk out.

Hi everyone,
I'm new to the site. Dealing with all the nasty symptoms of PCOS and
my family doctor nor my gynocologist seems to want to help me any.
Both treat this as though it's something that is not a big deal.
However, I can see the symptoms of it forming and it's causing me a
lot of anxiety. I really don't want to start over with a new doctor
but I'm starting to wonder if I should. Does anyone know of or
recommend a doctor in the Hamilton/Burlington, Ontario area that
specializes in PCOS and the treatment of it? The only treatment my
doctor is even offering for me at the moment is sending me to a
dermatologist to find out why my hair is thinning. She is treating
the rest of my PCOS as not a big deal, despite the fact I have the
weight gain, the facial hair (I have to get waxed every week now... I
use to get waxed every 2 weeks... now I have to wax my neck, my chin,
my upper lip, my cheeks, my eyebrows and it all grows back so fast).
She is also claiming that a lot of these symptoms are from my cyst
that I have on my left ovary (it was 7 cms... then shrunk to 4.5
cms)... which neither she nor my gyno seem to want to do anything
about, just wait it out they keep saying. I even asked to be referred
to another gynocologist and my doctor refused. And don't even get me
started on asking her whether or not I'll be able to get pregnant, she
won't even acknowledge it. My boyfriend and I have been having
unprotected sex for 7 months now and only thought I was pregnant once
(which I turned out not to be, we aren't actively trying but we aren't
actively not trying either, I've always wanted it to be a surprise
when I got pregnant for the first time) and my doctor told me no
specialist or anything will do anything for me until we are actively
trying for a year or two.
Anyways, sorry about the long vent, just trying to deal with this
diagnosis and the lack of help or understanding my doctor is giving
me. I don't know what to do, I just keep worrying about losing my
hair completely, growing all this facial hair, not being able to have
kids. Should I get a new doctor? And if so does anyone know of anyone
that specializes in this area in the Hamilton/Burlington, Ontario
area?
And what about Naturopaths? Is that an area I should consider looking into?
