I've had irregular periods most of my life but it wasn't too irregular until I turned about 16 and that was the first time I went 6 months without a period. I finally went to the gynocologist when I was 18 and she put me on birth control pills. I had read about PCOS before and I talked to her about my concerns that I possibly had PCOS. I do have a problem with some excessive hair growth and then lack of periods. Well she said I didn't but put me on Yasmin. I finally went off the pill after a year and a half and I realized how moody it made me and how depressed.
Well I went back to the doctor and she told me she thought I might be prematurely menopausal, well to make a long story short a couple of blood tests and a biopsy later she determined nothing was wrong with me and she just guessed I'm just that way. So I found a new doctor. This doctor says she believes I have PCOS. She told me I needed to go on birth control. The thing is I hate the pill and I hate the way it makes me feel. I haven't had a period in 6 months. I know that I have be regulated in some way because of the health reprecussions if I don't, but is there any other way to fix this without the pill? Also I'm almost 21 and right now it seems my symptoms aren't as bad as many experience. I only have mild acne and excessive hair growth but I don't have a weight problem. If I do have PCOS will my symptoms get worse?
