    Default Candida detox?

Does anyone know of a good candida detox program? I was going to try ThreeLac, but I'm skeptical about it's claims and am a bit wary about a couple of the ingredients, so it's out of the question.

Is there anything that YOU have tried that works? I've already cut sugar out of my diet and am eating organic yogurt every day. Anything else I can do?

My understanding in doing a candida detox is to cut out all sugar, dairy, refined CHO's, yeasts (i.e. in bread) and mushrooms. Also to take a medical strength acidophilus supplement from the chemist/health food shop. I have a friend who did it very successfully - from memory she did it for quite a long time - a month? 8 weeks? Check out the mercola.com website - I'm sure they'll mention candida in there. They'll probably suggest you cut out all grains as well.

Thanks for the reply! I'll be sure and check out that website... although, it sounds so extreme. I guess 8 weeks is not so long, though.

It does sound extreme, but compared to suffering from candida time and time again 8 weeks is really nothing. And it would do your PCOS a world of good too. Good luck. You can also try the liver cleansing diet (Dr Sandra Cabot) too. It helps candida, though it's better to make sure you onlyl eat flat breads (wraps) as they don't have yeast in them and cut out the mushies. It isn't that hard to do and once again it is 8 weeks. Try your local library - it may have a copy of it you can read.
