Thread: Any cysters with milia?

  1. #1

    Question Any cysters with milia?

After I took a bath tonight, I saw on my face, those milia pimples, they look like whiteheads. I've had them for about two years now, pop them with a needle, and a hard-like substance comes out. Does anyone get these, and if so, how do you clear them up? Not red, these little buggers are just weird and annoying--like a bump, but if you poke it with a needle-gently-the 'stuff' comes out. lol

Anyone know what I'm talking about? How do we get rid of them?

The one I popped tonight was on my forehead--came out real easy, but I have two other ones, one on each side of my nostrils--go figure lol I thought the ones around the eyes were from elevated cholesterol? Maybe not.

hmmm i dont think its from chloresterol... but i could be wrong.

have you ever tried a sulfer based face wash?? i got one from my derm bc of my rosacea and such and its actually helping my acne/milia problems!!

When I had acne really bad I did use the sulfur products--they worked so good. I use a scrub from Dermalogica right now, but it seems easier to stick a needle in it gently and just squeeeze. lol

Murad has a sulfur-based face mask--maybe that will help. I used to get chemical peels and it really helped clear off all the old dead skin, but can't afford those right now, way more less-shallow things to worry bout I know what you're talking about re: under the eyes, my brother's wife had those really bad, and she said her dermo said they were just whiteheads, but never popped I guess, then I just heard that they were cholesterol deposits, but I could be wrong--they're just annoying, but its not the end of the world hehe

I have them too, I use a needle to break the skin and get them out! I was told it was something to do with calcium????? I dunno.

    Red face Ooooohhhhh!

So there's a name for that little white bump under my right eye!

I always wondered why nothing would come out when I squeezed! Maybe I'll try poking it (that is if I get brave and can steady my ever shaking hands! lol)

On second thought, maybe I'll just think of it as a white beauty mark

I have tons and tons of them. I have my dermatologist scrape them off. I get them mostly on my eyelids and on my cheeks.

I don't have high cholesterol (but I do have high triglycerides). I don't use moisturizer, so mine can't be from that. I don't know what causes them.

I get these around my eyes too and finally went to the dermatologist about it as I had one under my eye that had gotten huge. She said people get them a lot around their eyes due to rubbing your eyes, taking off makeup, etc. She said what they are is shedding skin cells that get trapped in your pores. She zapped mine (ouch - let me tell you) and told me to remove them at home you should take a warm wash cloth and gently wipe at them and eventually the top layer of skin will come off, and then the pore will clear. Well, I've started to get a couple back and have tried that, but it doesn't seem to be working for me. Ugh, they are so annoying!
