    Default Conversation with a nurse....

I called my doctor today, as AF has yet to make a visit. I'm over a month late and no prego for me. (blood test confirmed 3.5 weeks ago.)

Talking to the nurse went something like this:

Me: "Yeah, I just need a script called in for Provera so we can get back on schedule with the Chlomid."

Nurse: "Well you know he's probably going to want a blood test more recent than the last one."

Me: "Okay... but because of all the cramping I've had, we haven't had sex since that last test. So unless this is a religious event, as in the Second Coming, there's no baby. I'm not doubting the first Emaculate Conception, but I don't think I'm in line for it to happen the second time around."

Whooping laughter followed by, "We love you Katrina! You have such a sense of humor!"

    to which I replied...

"I love you guys too. Love you so much I wish you weren't someone I see more than my family. "

...More laughter. Followed by the OK for the script to get called in to the pharmacy.

I swear, the nurses at my doctor's office are like secondary sisters. Distant Aunts, cousins, or some type of relative. They 'get' me, and they're wonderful. Still, I envy women who only go to their OB/Gyn for a yearly checkup rather than almost every MONTH! ha ha ha

Anyway, thought that was funny - wanted to pass it along!

I'm trying to get prego right now, and I'm having trouble with my cycle and everything so right now I'm there quite a bit. I also have problems with cysts reoccuring and causing a fast onset of pain. I've had to have them drained a few (that's an understatement) times so there's the ultrasounds, pre-op and post-op visits. Don't let that scare you! I'm sure there are a lot of women here who don't go as often as I do. I just have a very over cautious doctor, plus with TTC I'm there a lot for checkups and whatnot.

Welcome to the boards! Don't worry about having to find the "first" post on a situation or question. Just ask, and someone will be more than happy to help you out!

Not making a fool of yourself at all... that is my Spencer. Thank-you... we seem to think he's quite the cutie, too!! And just about when I'd given up hope of conceiving, I got pregnant... so hang in there!

Spencer is one of 16 grandkids on my side, I'm the youngest of 7 kids so my family is ever-expanding. I've been around little ones my whole life -- my oldest sister, technically, is old enough to be my mom & HER oldest daughter is only 3 years younger than me. Was that confusing!? ha ha ha... would've been easier to say I became an Aunt when I was only 3 years old.

One of my nieces had a baby 2 days before I had Spencer. I was a "Great Aunt" before I was even a Mom! And my nephew's wife is ready to give birth any day, so there we go... more babies in my family.

We're trying for one more, but we don't want to be greedy. If it happens I'll be so happy, but Spencer already makes me feel like the luckiest woman in the world. Hope can be fleeting, believe me -- I've been there! But follow your doctor's advice, pray a little, and hopefully it will happen for you someday, too!!

It is great to see that you and your nurses at the gyn are tight with you! I know that must be a comfort for you as often as you see them.

As far as seeing the gyn many times each year... hubby and I are starting the whole TTC thing. I mentioned to my GYN that I needed the cheapest way possible to go about TTC seeing as how my insurance wont cover a thing having to do with it. He's made a point of trying to get things done as cheaply as possible. He asked me to come back every three months which is pretty much when he'll HAVE to see me in order to up my dosage of Clomid. He also said that if I dont have a period next cycle (without the provera) that I'll need to go in just to have a Preg. test run before he perscribes more provera.

    Welcome!

They're making me go in for a blood test anyway. Something about the legalities of having to have it on my records. I understand it, but it feels stupid to have to go in for a preg test I know is going to come up negative.

Oh well. At least I made the nurses laugh!
