    Default Aldactone/Spiro

    I started this a few months ago and the DR started me at 58mg. My sister and neice also have POCS and are taking 300mg a day. My dr increased me to 100mg a day.

    I was wondering how much everyone takes? Does anyone know if there is a reccomended dosage for PCOS users?

    Thanks

    I am starting spiro tomorrow and I posted the same question a few days ago. From what I gather, people are anywhere from 50-200mg of it.

    How are you feeling on it? Are you noticing anything different?

    Rosie - thanks. I will search for that post.

    I am feeling great on the Spiro. I would definetly be interested in increasing the dosage. I see major improvements with the skin and hair

    I was wondering if you have lost any weight on it? Some people say that they have lost weight.

    Have you had any dizziness? Has it affected Af for you?

    Yes, I have lost some weight on it, actually a good amount, about 15lbs -20 LBS since I started a few months ago. (which is not bad b/c I have been kind of lazy... I need to get back on a good diet and exercise)

    I have not been dissy at all, and I have not had any changes with AF

    I am hoping that it will help me just start things. I have been stuck at about 185-190 for a while now. I feel puffy, so I hope it can help get rid of the bloat, not to mention the facial hair.

    Hello ladies
    I've taken spiro off and on for years now. I never ever stick to it. I stay on it for a few weeks and then stop. It's been a bad habit. Last year however, i was on it for 4 months straight. I lost 7 pounds on it but then i stopped again.
    My hair problem is really really bad lately so i've decided to start on it again. This is my third day on it (200 mg) and i'm experiencing horrible headaches. Do any of you remember having this? I can't remember if this is normal or not.

    I've been taking 200mg for 3 weeks. Absolutely no side effects. I've noticed a decrease in the growth rate and texture of "the hair" and I've lost 11 pounds. Still waiting for AF.

    My doctor put me on 50mg to start and get my body used to it, then I will increase to 100mg a day on the 27th. I haven't been dizzy, but my head feels fuzzy adn i feel nauseas, but I'm absolutely starving every 2 hours. I have noticed that if I take it after breakfast I don't feel as bad as when I take it on an empty stomach. But it does make me feel tired. Really, it makes me feel like how I felt before I started treatment - only with nausea

    I've been on 50mg daily for 2 months - but the Endo wants it increased to 100mg - I am waiting for him to contact my GP who will tell me whether its ok............anyway, I haven't noticed any difference in my bodily hair, due to Spiro - however, as I've had 2 laser treatments on my face, I HAVE noticed the hair growth and colour has changed dramatically for the better - I haven't shaved/waxed/plucked for 2 weeks!!! now THATS progress for me!

    My side effects are drowsiness and occasional nausia and dizziness. slight weight loss too. nothing major. I got my potassium levels checked (like your meant to when you take spiro apparently) and my levels are actually UNDER the average - thats very good, so I'm told!

    37, diag 1993 - textbook case! tried;
    Dianette*Met*Provera.Now back on Spiro, & taking;
    Atracand for high BP*Evening Primrose Oil*Milk Thistle*Cinnamon*Agnus Castus*Multivitamin + Minerals with Probiotic*St Johns Wort*Glucosamine*
