Unhappy Not enough Calories? on Nurtisystem

I have a question, if anyone cares to help. I started Nurtisystem This past Tuesday (4/5/05.) I started keeping the Diary available on the Nurtisystem site. I am noticing even though I am following the plan as directed I still can't seen to get enough Calories in. I am averaging about 975 calories a day sometimes I might get about 1080 and others maybe 870. I think one day I got the whole 1200 calories in; I had a Balance Bar and that put me over by about 20 calories.

I am really struggling to get in the calories but I am getting my 3 meals and 2 snacks a day.

I know I am not typical but I have not lost a pound. Its only been 5 days but the scale won't budge.

Any suggestions. I'm willing to do anything now. I am getting married next year. I would like to move the date up to this November, but I want to loose the weight first. HELP!!!

I think 5 days is too early to judge and I also think you should be aiming for at least 1250 calories a day.

Hang in there. It takes years to put weight on, it won't come off that easy in a week

Are you adding the fruits and veggies and proteins in your meal plan? I haven't actually started so I don't have a clue. But that was my first thought. I actually posted about adding them here. Oh and like Dreamy said give yourself more time. Hang in there and keep us posted. I'm starting tomorrow morning so I will be checking back to see how you are doing.

Lucy I just posted a question about calories on the nutrisystem support forum. I was told that there is no need to worry about calories. If you eat the food on your meal plan it will all work out. I did a trial day in my diary on the board and once I added in the fruits, veggies & proteins I was over. After doing some more research on the site I found that it is really important to eat more than less. If not you will make your metabolism get off and slow down, hence not loosing or hitting a plateau. HTH

    Thanks girls,

I have been trying to add more vegetables to my meals as well as dairy. The way I have been working lately and the weather getting warmer makes it real hard. Last Sunday, I barely got any water to drink; let alone eat anything. My pants are getting loser but the scale is not budging.

I am a Police Sergeant and an in a pretty bad area of the city. We stay busy on warm days. I bounce from call to call to supervise scenes. Somedays are better then others. I have been pretty sucessful getting all my meals in there are a few days like I said above that I don't even get time to stop and get soemthing to drink. I try to bring it with me but its not easy to drive and eat.

I haved learned portion control and different choices in foods, I guess thats a plus. I'll keep you all posted.

Make sure you eat everything on the plan (fruits, veggies, salads, protein, etc.)!! As long as you eat everything on the meal plan, you don't need to worry about calories...some days you'll be over, some days under the 1200.

Also, drink lots and lots of water...it definitely makes a difference!

If you haven't already done so, take your measurements. Even if the scale doesn't budge, you may see a big change in your measurements!!

    Good luck!!

Okay I paniced too early. I got on my scale this morning I beleive I started at about 235 give or take a pound. Today it read 229 I was so excited.

My doctors scale read 239 but that was fully clothed and in the middle of my cycle, just this past Friday. So this morning no period, and feeling pretty good.

I am happy! Thank you to everyone that gave me words of support.
