    Unhappy What should i do??

I tried to search but couldnt really find any info, the problem is my periods have never really been regular, and about a 10 days ago i started bleeding, its got heavier and heavier each day, and now i have seriously painful cramps, the thing is i've been losing weight and this has happened just after my weight loss (only 5lbs) This isn't the first time its happened, last time i lost weight the same thing happened, so i saw my doctor and they gave me something to stop the bleeding (cant remember what it was) it stopped after about 3/4 days of taking it, but when i finished it came back again, the doc gave me another weeks supply and the same thing happened again, i was then sent to a gyno who did tests, then said that it was because there was an increase in a certain hormone (???) they game me some more pills and it stopped, (i also stopped my diet) But i had been bleeding heavily for about 7 weeks.
Now it looks as though the same thing is happening again....has anyone else had this experience?? or offer any advice.
    Thanks a very worried woman...

When I was a teen I would have long, heavy, awful periods that lasted for months, then I'd get a few tays to a week off, then back on for months at a time.

Excessive and long bleeding seems to be a pretty common problem among women with PCOS. I actually have the opposite problem, and have not had a period at all for a year and a half or so. I'm getting ready to start Prometrium to hopefully start a bleed.

But I know there are lots of women around here with problems just like yours, and you're definately not alone in this. Hopefully some others will reply that have been in your shoes. Hang in there!

Mine progressed from irregular periods when I first began having a period, to extremely long, uncontrolled bleeding as a teenager, then to none at all around adulthood.
