    Unhappy Swelling hands??........

Something strange hapenned to me today, I went for a walk with my fiance and my dog to the beach, it was a nice warm sunny day and my hands started to swell up. When it's warm, particuarly in the summer, my hands and feet tend to swell, but it was just my hands today and it got to the point where my skin felt stretched and it was almost painful to make a fist. It was also to the degree that I couldn't even move my engagement ring, let alone take it off, when it normally comes off easily.

I know it's normal for a bit of swelling when it's warm, but I've never had it that bad. Has anyone else ever experienced this? I feel like a freak!

I have the same problem with my hands swelling in warm, humid weather. I usually take my wedding ring off if I know I am going to be outside long in the summertime.

Yup, this happens to me too!!! Sometimes when I go for a walk I walk around with my hands above my head.....I look like I'm under arrest or something.

I wonder if this is yet another PCOS sympotom!!! :-)

Oh yeah!!!! My hands will hurt soooo bad!!!! I've found that if I hold something in my hands, they don't get as bad.

I noticed this when I started walking again, it usually means, I think, that the blood is just going down to your hands and fingers swell up, of course h20 will help, but since walking while moving my arms up and down fiercly, it seems to help decrease the swelling. lol you're not a freak, but it sounds as if you're retaining TONS of H20...

    HTH keep on walking

I get this too, but my hands itch terrilby, especailly on my palms.....

Is this PCOS or just an obesity thing???

Mine swell too, along with my feet. I drink lots of water but I also feel like I retain lots of water too. My feet and hands swell and the skin is stretched to the point it is painful. It happens when I'm at work sometimes too and I tried washing my hands to cool them down. I tried using lotion, but that was a mistake ..it made my hands burn and feel hotter! The bottoms of my feet often fee like that, almost sunburnt. It hurts ! I try to put lotion on my feet tooo and at first it feels good then much much worse. I just have to soak them in cold cold water and try to drink lots and lots and lots of water.
