I was interested in Wicca while in college. I bought tons of books on the subject and just found them while cleaning out my old closet. There are lots for sale on Ebay... I managed to sell two of my books there.

    Good Luck in your search!

I would suggest "Paganism: An Introduction to Earth-Centered Religions" by Joyce & River Higginbotham. It is actually a newer book and I'm realy impressed by how the authors handle things.

I know it doesn't scream Wicca in the title so why do I recommend it?
Because it gives a really good base for all Pagan faiths of which Wicca is the largest. It covers the major commonalities of the various Wiccan traditions as well as some other Earth Based religions. It also answers those general questions about rituals, seasons, symbolism, etc.

If you don't have the extra $$ to buy a book check out:

shellybelly suggested this site too. I know it may be a little overwhelming at first but if you scroll down to the bottom of the page you will find "New & Information" which has links to some Basics and Tradition information.

    The Pagan Library: http://www.paganlibrary.com/index1.php
If you go into their Reading Rooms, they have lots of articles about things.

    Next Question?

I was wondering something ... I have been reading anything and everything about Wicca/Paganism for almost 10 years now and I was fairly active in it for a couple years a couple years ago, but a deep depression overcame me and I just got thrown outta sync ...

How can I start to incorprate that part of me back into my life again? I saw a blinkie awhile back that said Born Again Pagan and that's what I feel like I need to do. I am going to be pretty busy in the next few months. I'm fresh outta ideas or brain power forthat matter.

    Thanks!

    Blessed Be

Well..... you can take a minute or two in the morning and light a candle while thinking "Today I will focus on ______ (being positive, loving myself, getting along with co-workers, etc.)" Leave it lit while you take your shower/getting ready for work then before you leave for the day blow/snuff it out and repeat your phrase for the day.

    OR

Take a stress break and wander through your local metaphysical store. Just being in a good mellow atmosphere like that always helps me. It may also get you back in touch with your local pagan community.

    OR

The next time you do a good house cleaning do a postive thought mantra.

Just a few thoughts off the top of my head.

    Blessings,

I too have always been interested in Wicca and started reading it. I have always been the kind of person who attracts psychic experiences and the like, and since I have started learning about Wicca I feel like it makes so much sense to me! I would love to start a reg. thread if you guys are interested.

Dyonisya I have really resisted doing any fertility ritual or spells, it makes me nervous. What are your thoughts on that? I have tried some visualisation things as well as I put a painted turtle stone under my mattress. ( Native American Fertility Charm). I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.

Okay... I read this yesterday and I've been thinking.
Basically when it comes to ritual and spells I'm a big believer in doing only what you are comfortable with and only if you doing it for the greater good.

Personally I haven't done any specific fertility rituals or spells. Well, unless you view Chakra Balancing, Goddess Dancing, and Yoga a form of ritual and spell work. My most recent participations in the above have involved some really intense visualizations which is why I mentioned it.

You mentioned a painted turtle Native American Fertility charm. So I would say research how to get the best resulting using that particular fertility charm.

Or if Native Americanism isn't your usual tradition (Celtic, Greek, or whatever) find which fertility symbols resonate with you.

    Hope this helps some.

To me, intent is very important in spell casting. In my mind if you think that the turtle will bring you fertility, then it will. You just have to learn to make that intent known. Wicca is a religion on individuality, which includes spell casting. If you wish to use the turtle, then that is what you should use. There are some guidelines however, thats what you should be learning. I was spoiled and taught by other people, but alot of the books are very valid. I am on Yahoo as trinitybloodmoon all night usually, if anyone has questions please do not hesitate...

I agree with Dis(tara) on intent. You have to know what your purpose is and why you are doing what you are doing.
