I would like to recommend Dr. Gilbert Haas at the Center for Reproductive Health. There are sooooo many reasons I would choose this Dr. all over again. He is a very, very kind, compassionate, PCOS friendly Dr. He can recite PCOS stats at the drop of a hat. Even on days he was stressed, he still treated us with kindness and respect. He always had a smile and a warm greeting. He will take time to explain anything you are curious about. He will personally call you back if you have an in depth question. I could go on and on.
He doesn't waste alot of time. I got bloodwork and ultrasounds for nearly EVERY appointment. He is very dedicated to getting results. If there is a test you need or a question about your follicle size, progesterone level, he gets it done. I would get my blood drawn at about 8:30 am and have a nurse calling me back with results by noon or by that business closing day. I guess they did their own in house testing. Not sure about that but we got info FAST.
There are only two Dr.'s at his business, Dr. Haas being the "head" Dr. Well, I'm not sure about what their job levels are, but there is another Dr. there, he is younger and just starting out. So, my point is, you are going to get very personal care as opposed to the palce I will tell you about in a min.
The nurses at Dr. Haas' are out of this world. They are just as kind and gentle as he is. If the day had not gotten busy yet as it was so early, I would sit around and visit with one of the nurses after my appointment.
I do not believe Dr. Haas is a RE -- he is a MD, I am pretty sure. BUT ---- I promise you, this guy knows MORE than most Dr.s you will ever meet who know anything about PCOS. Okay, maybe that is a little strong, lol, but this guy is sharp. He knows ALL about PCOS. I aksed him how he knew he wanted to be a infertility specialist. He explained to me how he came from modest beginings and had a Dr. show interest in him. He decided he wanted to go into the medical field. He began in one field and decided he couldn't help people enough - he was introduced somehow to infertility and he thought, "Hey, this is a way I can REALLY help people." What a great guy.
I really do have to say this. I would not recommend the Bennett Fertility Institute through Baptist Medical Center - I hate to say that, but it is the truth. Their approach seems to be to get more people in and more people out as fast as they can. There are like 6 Dr.'s there and they all share a waiting room and receptionists - kind of felt like a fast food mentality or wal-mart mentality, lol. My Dr. kept telling me not to be in a hurry, that I was young. He didn't even tell me I had PCOS, his nurse suggested I ask if that is what he thought I had!!!! One day I was trying to ask questions and the Dr. told me he didn't have time for me that day and literally shut the door in my face. As we were walking out, no one said bye or spoke an encouraging word. He refused to do mid cycle ultrasounds and I got bloodwork twice the 8 months I went there, the first being the initial hormonal tests. His name was Dr. Eli Reshef.
I do know a lady who liked Dr. Kallemburger (I may have spelled that wrong) very much and he is at Bennett. I can not recommend him myself as I have never been to him but I am just trying to give a fair review.
