I'm none of the above, not insulin resistant, no male hormones or patterns, not really too hairy... the odd whisker etc, no ovulation or periods but heavy and fast weight gain. (55lb in 12months)

I think I am a 4. My BMI says I'm obese, but I consider myself to be overweight and not obese.

Well I am nothing. I ovulate, my hormone levels are normal and I am thin with no IR.

    Where is my category?

No sure which type I am.

    -- polycystic ovaries
-- excess hair, so I assume excess androgens
    -- elevated LH
-- irregular periods, roughly every 6 to 8 weeks or so. I do ovulate, but not very well, since I've miscarried twice now.
-- no idea about the insulin resistance, but my glucose is completely normal and I'm normal weight.

Not sure if that's closest to type 1,4 or 5.

    Default Another weird one....

    When I was younger I was definately a '3', but I lost a bunch of weight (70lbs), and now I ovulate....so...I would be a 3, but now a 4?

    I voted 4....

    Very interesting!

As far as bmi. you seriously can't go by that. It's based on a small framed women or man.

Not everyone is a small framed women or man. Not everyone is a large framed person.

I my self am considered morbidly obese. Now I will say i'm obese. I don't think i'm morbidly obese though. I build muscle well and very quickly. I also have a medium built frame, so at 118 i would look very very skinny and probably sick. But at a healthier weight of 125 to 135 i'd look fine.

I think this post can open many eyes to PCOS.

But there are more than the 5 listed PCOS types.
This is a general listing for that article. If your symptoms don't "fit" don't worry, your still PCOS and welcomed here!

    BTW, I don't fit either.
    Endometriosis (Infertility Cause)
    Andnomyosis (Infertility/Miscarry Cause)
Fibroid tummores(One reason for Non stop AF)
    Tubal ligation syndrome(Sister of PCOS)
