I'm gonna look into increasing my vitamin intake as a whole. I don't take any and I know I am way overdue for all of them.

I was diagnosed with depression at age 12, and now just diagnosed with PCOS 2 months ago. Ive had all of the classic PCOS symptoms since my first period at age 13 - and still trying to understand how my doctor missed all those symptoms (hair growth/acne/rapid weight gain/absent period if not on the pill).
Really trying to keep positive here - this forum is great, I really appreciate all of your posts. I know this site will be an excellent way to encouraging/empowering myself

    hi!
I'm 19 now but growing up my family always thought I made up being sick to get out of school except everytime I went to the doctor something was always wrong. When we found out I had PCOS my mom thought I was faking and now she feels bad about it but along with PCOS I also have: asthma, allergies, migraines, seborrheic dermatitis, arthritis, sleep apnea, TMJ, hirsutism, hot flashes, non-cancerous tumor under my arm, depression, way overweight, also I have 1 boob that is extremely smaller than the other and its a completely noticable thing. And I've only had 4 periods this year hasn't happen since 2001.

    DX PCOS 3/06 - 16
    Metformin 200 mg (didnt work)-18
    Actos 30 mg (didnt work)-19
    Yasmin (didnt work)-16
    Loestrin (didn't work) -19

Hey Mancila60! My family never believed me either when I said I was sick. I made good grades so I stayed home when I didn't feel well, but I could tell they thought I was faking. My dad would always tell me to "think better and I'll be better," and my mom would say, "Well are you sure you feel THAT bad?" My joints were so bad and I was spraining ankles like no tomorrow, but everyone thought I was just clumsy and that I was a hypochondriac. My mom and my aunt too felt bad when I was diagnosed with PCOS. So I totally understand where you're coming from.

    I have:
    Allergies/Asthma/Hay Fever (since birth)
    PCOS/IR
    Anemia
    Dyslipidemia

Seems like Allergies and such crop up a lot. I wonder if that is just a general population thing or if there is some kind of connection. Does anyone else feel like they get sick a lot more than "normal" people? Like more colds and stuff?

Wow, it's interesting how many people have allergies and asthma. I have both, as well as high blood pressure. Although I'm discovering Yoga is helping that.
