"Spreading reputation; How do you do it?

Hi all~

I was trying to give some friendly Karma and the following message came up: You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to XXXXX again.

My Questions: How do you "spread reputation"? I know how to give gifts and by ribbons. As mentioned I know how to give friendly Karma, but I am still about confused on the reputation part.

That message just means that you can't give it to that person again until you give it out to other people for awhile. Its a way to make sure you don't give rep to just a few people to rack up their rep points - but to make sure a lot of people get some rep.

So, in order to spread rep, give it out to people you have not given any to. Maybe go to the newbie section and give rep to as many newbies as you can (before you run out for the 24 hour period) just to welcome them to the boards! After "spreading it around" for a few days, you should be able to give rep to that XXXXX cyster again.
