Hey have you been to any docs ..if your shedding that much I would see someone ..

I shed for years really ignoring it .... only last year when I was 30 did I think hangon I am getting bald spots at my temples .... now I am in serious problems as I have confirmed male pattern baldness all thanks to the lovely PCOS .. wish I had done something sooner .. I may have halted this ...

I'm so sorry! My drain gets clogged with hair too.

I'm currently looking into essential oils for hair loss at the moment...

I also suffer from hair loss, hurrihottie. I don't have answers yet, but I understand the feeling. I hope you feel better soon.

I could have written this post last night...I was wondering why the drain was so slow....I pulled out a huge wad of hair, it was so gross! In addition to my B-Vitamin complex, I've been taking Biotin at the suggestion of my hair dresser. It seems to be working to make me not lose as much hair although, I havent noticed much regrowth yet. That could be because my thyroid went off again and I didnt realize...Now that I've upped the levoxyl, I wnder if I will regrow some hair. For awhile it looked like it was getting thicker....

    Hi Kristina,

How much biotin do you take, and what's the dosage/composition of the b vitamin? Also, can you tell me what levoxyl is?

    Hey Carimo

I've been taking a regular OTC super B-complex vitamin....any drug store kind will do. I read that Metformin can make some people b-vitamin deficient so that can cause hair loss. There is biotin in the b-complex but not enough to make a difference IMO. I take an extra 300mcg. It's the dosage of the biotin that I bought at GNC. The b-comlex also has extra folic acid which is good for us TTC. The levoxyl is for my hypo-thyroid....My TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) was 7.5 at my last check up and the doctor said he would like to see it at least under 4.00 and even that was high for him but the high end of normal. I will get that retested in 4-6 weeks when I have the HSG done....Hopefully everything is normal and we can start TTC again! I dont know how true this is but I've read that thyroid problems can go hand in hand with PCOS.....I think most doctors test it along with the normal PCOS tests.

    Good Luck

I use a good prenatal vitamin (not pregnant now), a B-50 complex, and Essential fatty acids (fish oil, evening primrose oil) for hair loss. I don't know which helps the most, since I'm too afraid to stop using any of them!!! My hair loss has slowed down dramatically, but I still do go through stages of losing a lot - when I'm stressed, for example.

If the vitamins don't work in 6 months, go to a doc.

Omg, dont even feel bad. I know exactly what you are talking about. Nate used to tell me make sure that when I wash my hair I get all the extra hair so he wouldnt have to pull it from the drain later. The sad thing is that he always had to at some point anyways. My hair isnt thin, and it looks nice and healthy but I shed hair like crazy. It comes out in a small bunch at every shower.

    Hey there ...

I would suggest going to see an endocinologist .. I saw a derm ... gave me Rogaine .. its rubbish and caused a huge shed .... the endo has put me on a load of drug combinations .. but because my hair loss looks so bad I am thinking of just letting it go .....

    Good luck
