It's ashamed that designers dont think plus size clothing is worth investing time to make them fashionable...I hate nothing more than to see the clothes in plus-sized stores tied tightly on to the mannequin to give an illusion of form and shape, and when you take it off the rack it looks like a sheet with no definition or nice details to make you feel attractive when you put it on.

However. sometime plus size clothes makers may go overboard by overembellshing with silly butterflies and too many flowers...unless of course that's what you like...but I want the same clothes that the size 8 ladies are wearing...not a two piece bathing suit, but mature or fun clothing with an attitude, in which people will respect.

I don't know if this one has been mentioned. I shop on ebay a lot and there is this one store that has really nice, trendy dresses without looking frumpy. I've bought 3 dresses from the store so far and have been pleased with the fit and the fast shipping.

do these stores offer petite lines? I'm 5'3, 30" inseam and 182 pounds. I find plas-sized to be too long and extended sizes too tight.

    Suggestions?

You may want to buy the clothing items you want and take them to a tailor for more of a custom fit!

I've done this with a few must have items that would not have complimented me without the alterations.

Th designers may sometimes fall short in the woman's need area by concentrating on the one size fits all area.

I looked throught those dresses and they are absolutely adorable!!! I don't wear dresses since I can never find any that are cute. Most plus size dresses I find in stores are "grandma-ish" and are not cute whatsoever. Others are flat out way too expensive for the few times I would wear them. I will definitely keep this seller in mind when I need a dress for an upcoming wedding.
    Smile; it makes people curious.

Here in Cali we have an Avenue as well as a Mervyns that offers decent plus size clothing. Ebay is a great friend of mine!!

Back in Kansas, I loved Catos & Fashion Bug (Plus). I haven't seen those out here.

I just checked out the link to this seller. Wow!! Her clothing items seem fairly fashionable (now if I could just pull it off). I'm also pretty modest...so...I'll have to do some careful looking there. But everything seems really reasonably priced.

Ross has some pretty nice plus size clothes, and the prices are pretty sweet too. You can find everyday, casual clothes there, but the choices in dresses for plus sized ladies are kinda few and far between.

My favorite is http://www.zaftique.com/. Their swing tops cover my big fat stomach and make my boobs look sexy.

Old Navy just added a new Petite and Tall section online. Both sell sizes 0 to 20. I was very excited to hear that because I am tall. I can never find pants that are my size (16) and long. And, they are having a $25 jeans sale now. It made my day.

It looks like all my favourite places have already been mentioned . .as I am in Canada there aren't too too many places . .

But Penningtons is definitely my favourite, Addition-Elle, Laura Plus, Reitmans has some good stuff, as done Cotton Ginny.

There is this new store called Intuitions . .it is high priced . . but they occasionally have some wicked sales . . like 75% off!

I have to admit tho . .I only buy my jeans from Walmart!
