    Exclamation pcos info please!! HELP!

hi all... sorry i hope i am not sounding ridiculous

i FINALLY have an appt with a doc tomorrow(i happened to call right after somebody cancelled... amazing huh... if i hadn't got that appt, i would have had to wait a month!)

so, i am going in, and i want to be armed with as much info/symptoms as i can on pcos...

i am going through the links on the board as best as possible, and printing them out... but if anybody has anything to share, or anything that might really help me or the doc with this dx, i would greatly appreciate it!!! thanks so much!!!

Smile not sure if this is any hel but...

hi there not sure if i can be of any help to you at all but some of the symptons i have are ache, weight problems (due to the pocs because it's harder to lose weight for me anyway)
irregualar periods (like not periods at all, or just one every few months ect) and problems trying to concieve.

erm if you are trying to find out if you have pocs, the best way of finding out is to have an ovary scan, (just like a ulture sound) if you have it you will probably have small white dots around your avarys like i did. i also had a blood test done as well.

i am on something called clomid which can help you concieve it has a 65% - 75 % success rate, (this was on a leftlet my gyno gave me - so im not sure how acrate it is) it also says there's a 10% chance of twins and a less than 1% chance of triplets or more! (although i no it dosent work for every one im really hoping it works for me) i take it for days 2 - 6 of my cylcle then have a blood test on day 21 to see how it's working. if it isnt working he can then increase the dose.

i hope this helps a little bit, there's loads of grate websites where you can find out loads of information on the medical side like this one. i no it's a lot to take in but i'm sure you gyno will be happy to help with any questions you need answering though.

take care and good luck !

Thanks hun.... unfortunately i had a scan on my ovaries while i was pg(didn't know i was pg until i had this scan... they mistaked the gestational sac as a 'growth'!), and they found no cysts... however, my mom was dx'd with pcos but didn't have the cysts either...

We have already used clomid to concieve(successfully) it's really a wonderful med

My only real concern (besides what pcos CAN cause later in life) is my current weight situation... i wouldn't be concerned... but i am supposed to have a surgery completed, and well... i can't exactly go in there 65lbs overweight, and them accept me.
