    Default Green Fingers???

Okay, so when I took my rings off the other day I noticed that there was a green/black ring around my finger, almost like they were fake.. Now I have had my wedding ring on for more then 4 yrs and it has never done that before. I was with DH when we picked out our wedding bands and any other ring he bought me so I know they are all real.. I have appraisals on most. Could this be a ph balance thing? Anyone else get this? I thought it was so odd!

It normally means low potassium. Try a banana a day for the next week or so.

I was always told that a black mark meant you were low on iron. Do you take vitamins at all? If you don't maybe you should give that a try.

Oh I am on prenatal vitamins and have been for about a year now. The only thing that has really changed is I am now taking prometrium cd13-cd27 and the dose was raised a few days ago. I also started vitex/dong quai.

Some lotions makes your fingers do that ALTHOUGH your rings are the real McCoy! I usually put lotion on without my rings on but if I don't get the lotion rubbed in well my fingers turn green - no alarm.

It wasn't my lotion, I have been using the same kind for just about ever. Now that I think more and more about it, it happened when I O'd. hmm just weird I guess.

I am allergic to bananas. My fingers turn green underneath my rings when my potassium is too low. My doctor gives me a shot. It happens a couple times a year. I take a multivitiman, but it does not help.

I'm very light complected and I have something similar going on, yet a bit different. On the insides of my elbows and the base of my neck I have a similar colored "stain". It's very light, in fact others can't really see it, but it bothers me. It's definitely not acanthosis nigricans... way too light; more of a yellow/green color. Exfoliation doesn't seem to help. Nothing does that I've found. My PCOS friend has similar "staining" on her elbows in addition to acanthosis nigricans, and I've noticed that my SIL has it as well (she has "hormone problems").

I can't wear my rings constantly anymore due to this staining as well. I have two 24k gold rings and the rest are sterling. It makes no sense, chemically. I'm going to look into getting more potassium, as I have been slacking on that lately.

If anyone finds an answer to this problem please let me know. It's been driving me nuts!

Just and FYI, but AN can very definitely be yellow/greenish! It's yellowish on me, because I'm fair complected. The darker your natural skin, the darker the AN. So yeah, it definitely could be AN in your case.
