    Default Winter/Christmas Election...

Well ladies...we're officially into a winter/Christmas election as has been talked about so much in the news for the past few weeks. To be honest, I'm not sure what all the fuss is about - for me, I am typically not THAT busy, at Christmas time or otherwise, that I cannot find the time to go out and vote. Yes, I know that all of the political mud-slinging and one-upping each other doesn't exactly scream "Happy Holidays", but it's important to look past all of that nonsense and consider the issues at stake. I am just happy that I live in a country that allows the freedom to vote all to voice their opinion by voting for our leaders. If it happens to take place over the holiday season - so be it.

Does the winter/Christmas election timing bother you???

P.S. It doesn't matter which party you support - just make sure you vote - every vote does count! We are so fortunate to live in a society that allows us (as women and as people in general) the opportunity to have our voices heard - voting is an important part of maintaining that freedom.

P.P.S. No, I am not a political fanatic - just a person who believes in democracy and the importance of citizens to be responsible for their society.

Since the voting takes place a month after Christmas, the only really annoying thing will be the extra long coverage of the campaining. It's the longest run up to an election we've seen, which means more time for mud slinging, more time for those awful commercials and more time for the politicians to make fools of themselves. Heck, even the one I'm voting for should keep his mouth shut from time to time.

If they come to my door before Christmas, I will turn them away. I don't want to have anything to do with it until after the Holidays.

The whole Christmas thing doesn't bother me in the least. I get annoyed when they come door to door at any time - Christmas is no different. For me, the fact that a candidate comes to my door or not, has no effect on who I will vote for. I inform myself on all of the candidates by reading their material on where their party stands on the issues - nothing that they could say to me on my doorstep would have an effect on my vote.

It doesn't bother me at all- it is more of a pain for the politicians to have to campaign over the holidays but that is the price they pay for running for public office. Since the election is a month past Christmas I don't even see it as happening during the holiday season. I just can't stand listening to all the mudslinging so I will just concentrate on the Christmasy shows to make it better
