    Default Facial hair and epilators?

Has anyone used an epi on their face? I've tried waxing and I break out like crazy! I can't use Magic Cream while I'm pregnant. I'm thinking of purchasing an epi, but nervous that it's a big investment for something that might not work?

Has anyone had experience w/ epis on their facial hair? How long does it last for? Do you have to let the hair grow out first? Did you break out when you used it?

    TIA!

I use mine on my upper lip and chin hair. The hair has started growing in more blonde and finer instead of dark and prickly. I usually have to use it once per week. I did not let the hair grow out very much before I used it the first time. I have fair skin and had some redness immediately after using it, but it went away more quickly than it used to when I waxed. I absolutely love my epi. It is much faster on my facial hair than waxing was and much less messy.

I did and it hurt like CRAZY. I'll do almost anything to get rid of the hair... but that hurt WAY more than I can handle!

Well I don't really care for pain either! I wonder if I should just go ahead and buy it and if I can't use it on my Elvis sideburns, maybe I can use it on my legs?

Sideburns hurt the worst for me!

But I found it great on my legs and tops of feet - that's for sure. I'm just too lazy to use it all the time!

I guess the pain wasn't that bad for me because I was used to waxing my facial hair. I use the Braun Silk-Epil on my legs, face, underarms, and to remove the dark hairs on my breasts. The absolute most painful thing for me was the underarms the first few times! It hurt so badly, but now it doesn't hurt so much and the hair grows in slowly and much finer.

I just got one of these... Christmas present to myself! I must be a weird one when it comes to pain because it isn't all that bad (just tried it out) its mildly uncomfortable and the redness looks a bit icky but can't really feel much irritation.... guess I've just found my new best friend!

The more you use it, the less red you will get. I love mine and congrats on your Christmas gift!

Use bongela (that teething gel) on the really sensitive parts and it numbs your skin.

I've used seda gel (same thing as bonjella) on my eyebrows, and it works, so I guess it could work for the rest of the face.

Can you numb the area and then wipe off the excess though and it stay numb? Because you have to have clean, dry skin for the epilator. I usually tweeze my eyebrows and tweezers don't mind a bit of gel!!

I've tried it after wiping it away but the numbing effect does not last for long.
