Is this what a normal cycle is supposed to be like?
This is going to sound really stupid....but I think I have forgotten what a "normal" menstrual cycle is like. I haven't had one probably since college 19 years ago!
I have been taking Vitex and some other herbs for about a year to regulate my cycles and they worked great. But, for some reason, right around Christmas time, I just quit taking them. I don't know why, just something in me said, "Stop." Well, I had started my AF a week early in Nov. Then when I quit my herbs around Christmas time, I again started a week earlier than usual (on Christmas Eve.) but didn't think much of it. So I was having regularly spaced cycles of 21 days.
Then , fast forward to last Tuesday(Jan.4th). I had a discharge that I am sure is just cervical mucus, but is that when it would normally show up? It was really gloppy and slick and a lot of it and I have never had it before--not even before my PCOS became severe. It was not a weird color and had no odor and I am sure it is not an infection.
Also, since then (it lasted 3 days) I have had wet panties all the time and I have had mild menstrual like cramps in my uterus. Is that normal, too?If I am still having 21 day cycles, then AF is due Jan.15th.
I am thinking maybe the herbs helped balance out my hormones enough to get me to have a regular period but now I am clueless as to what a regular one is. I have had some mild diarrhea also but I do remember getting that when AF was due.

kitty, i'm not quite sure, but it sounds like you're having a cycle of some sort. not to be gross, but what color is the discharge? bloody? kind of pinkish? dark? i was just a little unclear on whether you meant you were having some discharge or actual bleeding. but it seems like a cycle to me.

It was just mostly clear, maybe a little white-ish, no blood at all, no brownish tint. The discharge did not come on my AF day, that's not till next Saturday. And I said I have had mild cramps, but it is really a sort of draggy, pulling sensation. It doesn't hurt enough to need an aspirin or anything.
