    Default What are your ranges

I know....I keep asking these crazy questions. I have been trying to test on a more regular basis and I was wondering what kind of numbers everyone see's when they test? I had been like 95 in the morning before eating until about a week ago...then it was like 115-120? I am usually about 160-170 about 2 hours after eating. Does this seem normal?

Your morning numbers are elevated, shows glucose intolerance. Your 2 hour post-eating numbers are in diabetic range. Here are the target ranges:

The first one listed for each category is for non-diabetics, the second is for diabetics:

    Before breakfast (fasting)
    < 110
    90 - 130

    Before lunch, supper and snack
    < 110
    90 - 130

    Two hours after meals
    < 140
    < 160

    Bedtime
    < 120
    110 - 150

A1C (also called glycosylated hemoglobin A1c, HbA1c or glycohemoglobin A1c)
    < 6%
    < 7%

Many experts believe the targets for diabetics are too high. Read the article at this link for more info:

I also want to point out that there are many things that can contribute to rises in blood sugar, such as stress, illness, or AF. Could any of these things be affecting your recent rises?

    Question

I went to see my dr for a cold and I mentioned to him the types of numbers I have been getting and he told me everything is in perfectly normal range. Why does it seem this is contrary to most information i have read on the ranges? What do you all think?

I dont think your morning levels are that bad. Your after eating levels are pretty high.. Was it after you ate something sweet?

Thanks for answering--- I usually try not to eat anything sweet and I am at work during lunch so it's usually nothing high in sugar and I don't drink anything with sugar anymore. My numbers inthe morning have pretty much been anywhere from 90-120. I can definately feel when they get lower.....like 72, then I feel like crap!

Sorry but your fastings are ok, my dr's prefer to see lower. The post meals I'd get a long lecture and more medications. I'm diabetic.
