Hi everyone!
I just got my "official" diagnosis today, but I've suspected I've had PCOS for quite awhile. I've been lurking on the boards for awhile, too... what a wealth of support and information!!
My DH and I have been TTC for a loooonnnggg time, and we finally sought the help of our RE. Wish we'd have done it sooner! I was diagnosed as hypothyroid many years ago, but I've never been able to lose weight despite having "normal" thyroid levels. Learning that PCOS and insulin resistance is also part of my picture makes so much sense... I can't believe my doctors never looked into it before. So while on one hand, I'm a little nervous about the journey I'm about to begin, I'm also excited to have the possibility of finding answers, and good health. And the blessing of having a child - well, let's just say that I really have believed it could never happen. However, after learning about PCOS and talking with our RE, I'm cautiously optimistic... which is far more positive than I've felt in a long time!!
I took my first dose of Metformin tonight... and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the side effects won't be too bad. We'll see how it goes and take things one step at a time.
Looking forward to all the great support that I know I'll find here!!
