What do you mean? If we use Coconut Oil that we can get off of our Synthroid and it helps us lose weight? Just wondering. I am confused. Help me out here.

I don't see why not, it is simply an oil....your body burns it though...other oils are not burned for fuel but stored in the fat cells...

Do you think this can help for Thyroglobulin Antibodies? My entire thyroid profile is normal except for elevated TgAb. I am told this means my thyroid can begin to fail in the future even though it is ok now. Although, no one will give me meds for it! I just started Met for PCOS but would like to treat the impending thyroid failure as well. Any ideas?

Selenium can help decrease the antibodies level (200 mcg to start, then reduce to 100 mcg after several weeks). There is also research that supports the idea that thyroid replacement meds can decrease antibodies and limit or slow the progession of Hashimoto's Thyroiditis.

I've never seen anything about coconut oil effecting antibody levels.

    Hi Linda,

Now that you mention it, I think I recall hearing that before. Thanks so much for your help!

Coconut oil is awesome to cook with! it withstands high heat very well and can be used for more than just cooking too. Coconut oil also helps with weight loss, Check out

You can also buy coconut oil in grocery stores, even in Walmart. It works especially well when you cook broccoli in it. Woman's World Magazine did an article about it about a year and a half ago.
