    Smile In Limbo

Hi everyone! I am new to the site!

for the past year my sister and I have been struggling with the same issues. We are trying unsuccessfuly to get pg. I already have two beautiful ds ages 7 and 4 but desperatly want a #3. girl please lol

I was dx with hypothyroidism back in 2002 after going 4+ months w/o AF was HORRIBLE about taking my meds. I just recently had blood work done for my thyroid after not taking the meds and the results came back normal for the 3rd time so the dr. took me off of the synthroid and is closely observing me.

ok on the the PCOS stuff:

After going to my sister to her appt. with this ob/gyn who specializes on PCOS, i decided to go myself. She just go her blood work done and sure enough that is what the dr. dx her with. It was almost a relief for her.. after almost a year of forced AF now she can start actualy ttc for real! I recently had my dr. appt and he also wants me to go for the same blood work. In a strange way i really hope that the lab work comes back positive for PCOS so that they can finaly start treating the problem instead of working around it. My normal gyn wants to put me on fertility meds but never has even had me tested for PCOS except for one U/S which did not show the "string of pearls" but I have SEVERAL of the other symptoms:

Hairy neck and some spots on my face
irregular periods or none at all
leathery skin in a crease (i'll spare the details lol)
official (since its been 6mo plus) infertility
high blood pressure (147/97) he really freaked on that

I just wanted to introduce myself and give a little bit of back history...I go tomorrow for my lipid screen and 2 hour IR test

Welcome and Good Luck. I was the same way, kind of hoping the blood work showed PCOS, that way I would have some answers. I totally understand where you are coming from.
