I have been using a combination of acne treatments - Differin and Duac (both US brands), which are peroxide/antibiotic gels which you can apply daily to the affected area. I have been prescribed them by a dermatologist and a regular doctor so they are readily available.

They are quite strong so it's best to read the indications etc and make your own judgement call as to whether you wish to use them or not but they definitely clear up my acne very quickly, and I have been able to reduce the dosage to an application every few days. They are probably a bit harsh on the skin, but they work....!

I guess it's a question of quality of life - there might be some milder or more natural remedies which are probably healthier choices if they work for you. For me, I turned to these because nothing else worked and I couldn't suffer the humiliation of acne any longer, but if I could, I'd prefer to use a more natural remedy....if anyone else knows of one! :-)
