Thread: Whats your worst FEAR of PCOS?

  1. #1

Question Whats your worst FEAR of PCOS?

What would you say your worst fear of PCOS is? I would say mine is I fear that I will have problems becoming pregnant. Being a Mother has got to be one of the best feelings.. And sometimes Im scared I wont ever feel that feeling. I would say thats my biggest fear. My other fear is Im afraid that depression will overtake me because I feel so ugly all the time. .. And bad about who I am and what I look like. .. Please share your fears here! Thanks

Don't give up. I was diagnosed in 2004 and was feeling terribly frightened that i would never be a mother. After a year of trying i was finally put on Metaformin and got pregnant 4 weeks later. I now have a one year old little girl.

My biggest fear is getting the weight off. I have gained 30lbs since 2004. There are times that depression gets me down too. I just started Curves and am hoping that i can stay committed.

Good luck and don't give up.

Can I ask you a fw questions? How much Metformin were you on when you became pregnant. And do you think It was the met that got you pregnant? Like what I mean by that was, were you "ttc" before you started met?

Yes i believe it was the metaformin that got me pregnant. I had not ovulated for over a year. My doctor first tried Clomid. I did two cycles with no success. He then took me off Clomid and put me on 500 mg of Metaformin then increased it to 800 mg. I was pregnant within about 4 weeks.
I also have a friend that was finally put on metaformin after years of trying other medications. She became pregnant after 6 weeks of metaformin.

My fear is that I will never get pregnant and that is probably the case. I'm going to be 42 this summer...the eggs are going moldy!!!

I'm pretty sure I will become diabetic. It runs in my family (Dad died from it at age 48, as did his sister - also at age 48)

PCOS has kind of been a death sentence for my hopes and dreams.

Growing a beard and not wanting to go out in public. I have one child but that is all I am able to have, I cant' complain becasue there are women out there that have not been able to concieve and my heart goes out to them. I have a dear friend going through this infertility stage she is only 22 years old but we jsut found out that it's a male factor.
Also she told me that her period was very light and for one day can't help to think that is how I started out, I mean her lil tummy has swelled but I don't have the heart to suggest PCOS coming on *confused*

I am afraid I will not be able to be a mother as well. I have been ttc for 2 1/2 years. I was on Metformin 500mg for a year, tried Clomid twice with no luck. My doctor has me now on 1500 mg, and keeps telling me to up it as much as I can stand it until I have a period on my own. I just feel like I am never going to have a period on my own, and I have tried to up the metformin from 1500 to 1750 but I get so sick everytime. I just feel so depressed about all of this not to mention it feels like no matter how well I eat and walk I can't lose weight!!

My worst fear is I won't ever get pregnant again. I got pregnant once and had a miscarriage which leads to fear #2 that I'll miscarry if I ever do get pregnant again. I want to be a mommy so badly!! I want to see what my and my hubby's kid would look like!!

My biggest fear is never becoming a mom or going through a pregnancy of my own, but my doctor said that we WILL be able to get me pregnant. I have another fear...and that is cancer!! I worry about it because it already runs in my family, my father died of cancer in 1995...only 53 years old. But to think that PCOS can make that risk even higher, it scares me to DEATH.
