Smile Do any thin cysters have hair problems?

I was wondering if many thin cysters have hair problems, in particular male-pattern baldness? I am not overweight, but I have both excess body hair (mild) and thinning scalp hair (getting less mild!!!). I know that being overweight makes it more likely to have hair problems and acne, but I can't understand why I do when my weight is OK.

Yes I have hair problems. They are not terrible but you don't need to look very hard to see the excess hair on my face, neck and legs. Some is lighter and longer than normal and some is dark whiskery!! Such a beautifult trait!! I have noticed some thinning especially in the crown area as of late. This most especially happened after I had my son 3 years ago. I only take the pill now which cuts the body hair down but have taken spiro in the past and liked its results.

I have a BMI of 23 and I do have the hair problems. I get facial hair above my lip, under my jaw/ chin area, on my navel, just outside of the bikini line. It really sucks!!! I am ultra paranoid all the time, mostly with the facial stuff, but I am learning to get good coverage with my makeup... luckily the hair isn't very dark. In summer I will have to either use my Epilady on the outer-bikini-line area or wear a pair of board shorts over my bikini to go swimming which is a pain.

    Post yep...

I don't know whether I'm thin or overweight...I'm the statistical USA average of height, weight, and dress size. My main and major hair problem is male-pattern hairloss (like norwood3 now--receding hairline, temples gone) and generalized slight thinning of head hair...and the appleshape figure.

    Default Me too!!

Yes, I too have the overabundant facial and body hair, as well as thinning head hair. I call my problem mild as LittleGem did, and take care of it by plucking and bleaching. However, sometimes I really wish that I could wear those low rise pants that are so popular now...but that would require just too much constant control of my belly hair (that I used to shave when I was a teen, but seems way to abundant now).

I have hair everywhere and I have dark hair so it really stands out .

I have also notice my hair is getting thiner. I am more worried about the facial hair though, it really takes away my confidence and half the time I don't feel pretty or like a woman anymore .

Yes, I have unwanted hair growth. It is on my chin, upper lip, lower abdomen, inner thighs, nipples, and one other unmentionable area! My saving grace is that I am blond, which makes the hair much easier to conceal. (This also means that I have a blond mother and sister, both unafflicted by PCOS, who don't even have to shave their thighs, much less think about facial hair. They have no idea how lucky they are.)

I deal with the hair by shaving everywhere besides my face. I have undergone electrolysis and laser hair removal on my face with limited results. I now pluck and wax this area. I have heard that the laser removal works really well on brunettes with pale skin.

I started met in early August, and am now up to 1500 mg per day. It seems to be slowing growth on my face and legs.

I have excess hair and weigh 105 pounds. I hide it pretty well but I always feel like I have this "secret."

    Default yes, thinning...

    Hi,

I am 64kg, 170cm. Occasionally my acne takes over, being depressive for 1-3mo periods, then I usually take some serious actions against it. My hair is thinning now rapidly, for some reason. Yes, it has gotten worse since my daughter was born and when I finally started periods after having her (10-11mos).

    Default thinning hair, hair growth

I've got overall thinning on the scalp -- the worst part is the front. Also since stopping the pill, the body hair has started again. Chin, breast, lip. I had long-term electrolysis before I was Dx, so the problem is not as bad as the last time i was off bcps. At least it can be managed with waxing.

Glad to know i'm not the only one. The hairloss is the worst part, the hardest to deal with because there's nothing we can really do.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

I hate this hair! I have excess hair on my breasts around my nipple, upper lip, chin and jawline, belly......also, my legs seem to get hairier each month!

I have never had a problem with my weight. Seems like the hair problem is getting worse.

Angry Yes on the overgrowth and loss

So sosososso frustrating! Actually, it was my hair loss and TTC that got me on the right path to discovering I have PCOS. Final diagnosis yesterday Sad. But glad on right path. I'm 5'3", 106 lbs. Wanted to go on the avacor, but not doing anything about it since TTC. Using a lot more clips. So bummed about it. I can deal w/ the constant plucking (appeals to my OCDness!). My first mo on Clomid and about to eat a bit more for lunch and am going to pop my first Metformin Am scared, but am keeping my fingers crossed on this cycle. Maybe w/ al lthe technology, they'll come up w/ a decent hair loss solution for us PCOSers?!
