My insulin was 29 back in August/05 and my GYNO put me on Metformin...I was allergic to it so I stopped it and decided that I'll try to do it on my own, I knew I was healthier and had almost no PCOS symptoms when I was skinnier, I still have along way to go to get to where I should be, but after losing 40 lbs from no sugars, low carbs and drinking only water...my insulin went from 29 to 14 and it's still coming down...I soooo believe in doing low carbs and as low of sugars as you can do...I notice that if I go off and eat a lot of carbs and sugars for about 2 weeks...I get more acne and my body just isn't happy with me, very tired. I'm still trying to get off this weight, not saying that no Metformin is for everyone...some people definitely need to be put on it, but wanted to let you know that a healthy diet can help our symptoms![]()
