Smile Lowered my insulin...no meds :)

My insulin was 29 back in August/05 and my GYNO put me on Metformin...I was allergic to it so I stopped it and decided that I'll try to do it on my own, I knew I was healthier and had almost no PCOS symptoms when I was skinnier, I still have along way to go to get to where I should be, but after losing 40 lbs from no sugars, low carbs and drinking only water...my insulin went from 29 to 14 and it's still coming down...I soooo believe in doing low carbs and as low of sugars as you can do...I notice that if I go off and eat a lot of carbs and sugars for about 2 weeks...I get more acne and my body just isn't happy with me, very tired. I'm still trying to get off this weight, not saying that no Metformin is for everyone...some people definitely need to be put on it, but wanted to let you know that a healthy diet can help our symptoms

I think that is so awesome! I am currently doing the same, no meds, using cinnamon, plus diet and exercise. It's tough to stay disciplined, but it works!! All the best to you!

I completely agree with you that diet has SOOOOO much to do with our hormone levels and the way our bodies function (or malfunction).

I can look back through the years and see the pattern so clearly in my own life.....eating crappy leads to wacked-out hormones and then the depression/sluggishness/acne/weight gain, etc.....and the cycle seems almost impossible to get out of once you are in it.

Congrats on the weight loss! I was wondering what Insulite is????

I'm the same way, I can see what I've done over the years and how my body changes ect.

Insulite is an herb, I don't take the full amount that I'm supposed to take I'm supposed to take 24 pills, but I only take 12 here and there. Insulite is supposed to be for PCOS and it's an herb...there's a site that will explain more about it.

Oh, I didn't mention, I actually ovulated on my own too
