So, one of my questions is will npc help me to ovulate? Also I read somewhere that I should start the npc on day 14 and use it for 14 days...is this correct? I'm still a little confused about how much to use and when (even though I've spent hours reading through info on the internet). Is it a big deal how much you use and how many days you use it for?
So, I just started using npc on day 14 of my cycle. I am using Arbonne's prolief cream. I am putting 1/4 tsp on twice a day. I am on day 16 of my cycle now.
Anyway, I would appreciate any feedback.
    Thanks!!
NPC won't MAKE you ovulate, but it can put your hormone levels in the correct balance so that you CAN. Yes, use the NPC on day 14 and use it for 14 days, or up to 21 days. Don't use it more than 21 days, and don't go less than 7 days between using it. Getting AF is a step in the right direction to getting better and NPC can help balance hormones so (like I said) eventually you will ovulate. Arbonne's prolief cream is a really good one, so you should have good success witht that. Sometimes it takes a few months for NPC to bring on AF. For me, I used it 3 months, then AF came (sort of... I just spoted for about 3 days). Then it was another 3 months, and I got real AF. I don't get overly concerned about how much I use at one time (I probably use too much, but 1/8 to 1/4 of a tsp is a good amount), just make sure you rotate where you put it... in soft skin areas, such as inner thighs, inner arms, stomach, etc.

Then when I go online about the natural progesterone it says that the doctors progesterone is not good for me. I am very confused on who to believe. Any suggestions?????
She is wrong. I know people (many) who have had their levels go up using NPC. I'm sure she just doesn't know anything about it, because I know of many doctors who say herbs and other natural things "don't work." My dad's doctor wants him to take a drug to lower his triglicerides, but he has been using herbs to lower them. Early this year, they were at 1000 (VERY high) and last month, it was down to 480, and now it is down to 350 or so... using ONLY herbs, no drugs. His doctor says "quit using herbs and take drugs" but he won't do it.... why should he, when the numbers are coming down so well using herbs, that have no side effects??? The point is that YOU are responsible for your own health, so you should know what you are doing to your body!

The REASON the doctor's progesterone isn't good for you is because it is from an artificial source. NPC is from a plant source, and so your body will only use what it needs, and get rid of the rest. Do what YOU think is best. The progesterone drug will work faster than NPC. I've never had any that was vaginal, the only kind I've ever used was an oral drug, so that would concern me a little personally, but again, it is YOUR decision (not anyone else's, not even your doctor's!).

I saw a dr. specializing in bioidentical hormones yesterday. I was given a saliva test to take on day 21 of cycle. I am only on day 2. She gave me oral bhrt from compounding pharm. along with a few other herbs. I will update you on the effects. I was instructed to take throughout my cycle.

    Thumbs up

Holy COW, this thread has been through a lot! It's funny... I've been sort of MIA from the SC boards (a bit tied up over at Fertility Friend these days, oops!) and after chatting with some ladies there, was suggested to get some NPC. So today at Walmart, getting some of my other supplements (Cinnamon, Omega-3s, Prenatal Vitamins...) I noticed the Rexall Progesterone Cream. I only used a tiny bit after getting home, but now that I've read this threat (from the very begginning, might I add!) I shall be marching back to Walmart tomorrow and returning it. Good sleuthwork, ladies!

Tindsarma, most alternative medicine is NOT approved by MDs, they can have opinions on it if they care enough to research it, but MDs are not autorized to recommend or "prescribe" you alternative medicine, including NPC. Even though most of it is perfectly effective, has far less if any side effects, and a range of side benefits. Try a ND if you're going the natural path, it would be a lot more helpful and informative to you.

I wanted to jump in and recommend another NPC that I absolutely LOVE. It's Nature's Precise Cream by Sarati. You can read more about it here www.sarati.com. it contains 20 mg/1/4 tsp. It is one recommended by Dr Lee. It retails for $25.00 but I found it on eBay for $15 which includes shipping.

I just started using it again and in the past it has brought on AF. I've been on it for 4 days I already feel my ovaries working. I feel crampy and bloated. I'm using it to "shutdown" so i will use it for 21 days and off for 7.

Has anyone been able to regulate their cycles consistantly using NPC alone?
    Thanks!

I just looked on my new bottle and it does not say USP Progesterone. My old bottle does. I just sent an email to the company to see what's up with the change.

Yes, you can keep using NPC through your pregnancy if needed. If your progesterone levels tend to be low (which is common with PCOS) it would be a good idea. It can help prevent miscarriages caused by low progesterone. Doctor's don't prescribe supplements, only drugs. If they prescribed progesterone, it would be artificial, not plant sourced, and your body doesn't like that kind as well. If you are worried, you can have him monitor your progesterone levels, and if they get too low (dangerous), THEN use the drug. But the cream should be fine.

Thanks Dollfin - Should I use it throughout the whole pg or only through the 1st trimester?

Either one. I've heard that it is only helpful during the first, but I've also heard (when I say heard, I actually mean read) that it's good for the baby's development to use during the whole pregnancy. Either way, it is safe to use during the whole pregnancy. Make sure you use a good, high quality brand, because some of the cheaper ones have a preservative in them that act like estrogen (called xenoestrogens, or artificial estrogens), which isn't healthy for the baby (or you). If you buy it at a health food store or herb shop (not the grocery store or a drug store), it should be a good brand.

Nature's Sunshine, Enzymatic Therapy and Neutriceuticals are 3 that I have used with good success. I know there are others that are good, too.
