Bound to be bigger than mine, which are just large, well-developed nipples on a flat chest.

    Thanks for the good links!
    You're welcome. A picture's always worth a hundred words, isn't it?

I have 38DDD bosoms. Full and sensitve, very little sag due to years of workouts that built the muscle up under them. The hubs, who is a leg man, calls them "a happy bonus" I have small nipples.

You'll make some of us jealous! :-). It's OK, I'm just joking -- I used to be jealous of girls with big breasts, but DH and plenty of other men seem to appreciate a flat chest as long as they can see what's actually there.

    I have small nipples.
Strange, isn't it, that I should have got the very well-developed nipples but effectively no breasts? What I think happened is that my nipples started pubertal development before the testosterone kicked in in earnest at puberty. At least they give DH something to play with :-).

I know I'm jealous! I wear a size 46D or DD depending on the bra, but that is really the only size I can find that is comfortable. However, if you looked at my breasts, you'd probably place me in a small C cup... but I think that's because I'm so big boned and overweight that they don't look proportioned to my body at all.

Wow, Great info here. Can this also be caused by weight loss?

So... I'm assuming tubular breasts go along with PCOS? How? I have tubular breasts... and its something that I was wondering if they went hand in hand.. and I'm assuming now they do but still dont understand how. I read somewhere that natural progesterone may help with glanular tissue.. anyone heard of this?

Hello all, im new to this site, but not to PCOS, i was diagnosed when i was 17..
As foor the "Breasts" i had no breast tissue at all, i mean completely flat,
i had no self confidence at all, and never went out without a padded bra or silicone cups "chicken fillets". so when i was 21 i had a boob job, i had it done on the NHS because it was a medical problem..

It was the best thing i ever did, i dont regret it at all, all the pain i went through was well worth it ...

Has anyone else had this problem? no breast development at all?? would be great to hear from anyone..

    thanx Ellen

I had tuberous breasts with slight asymetry and large areolas.
I wasn't as sever as some woman but they still left me self conscious and i saved to get them done.
So now i have new rounder boobies and i don't regret it at all...but its difficult to explain to Friend. People automatically assume you are incredibly insecure and just want big boobs...its difficult to explain and sometimes makes me feel embarrassed to tell them i didn't have "nice " boobs. And for woman who never had this problem or dont know about it...to them it seems maybe like i am making it up...or hard for them to understand.

oh my goodness, ive just self diagnosed myself with hypoplastic breasts, and now have a name for the problem i always knew i had! i've always complained that my breasts don't grow whether i gain or lose weight, and have not grown with pregnancy. no one believes me and no one understands how hard it is to find bras that fit correctly!! ive taken to buying bras and bra extenders (lifesavers!) to make my bras fit. for those of u who don't know about them, they are little elastic extenders that give an extra couple of inches to a bra strap so that it's not too tight. it does seem that pcos and hypoplastic breasts have a connection given that it's all hormonal...i've never heard of anyone else having this problem until now, so i feel better knowing i'm not the only one
Off BCP 6/07, TTC ever since!

I don't have this problem. However I have one nipple that's an innie and one that's a major outtie! lol I was once told during a breast exam, that it's due to hormones. I dunno though. I think like most women,I have one smaller and one larger and it just tended to follow with the smaller one.

I've never been told I have hypoplastic breasts by a doctor, but I never asked and my doctor never said anything while looking at them. Looking at the pictures I've seen on the internet I am positive I have them. My breasts haven't really grown since I hit puberty. They are cone shapped. It bothers me sooo much!!! I can't find a properly fitting bra. I always have to wear padded bra so that my tops fit and look normal. This may be a stupid question but is there is anything that can be done besides plastic surgery? I want to have kids one day and I would like my breastfeed. I want boobs that work and I want them to be fuller. Is there anything out there that can jumpstart the development that didn't happen as a young girl? If so has anyone had any luck developing more breast tissue?

Tuberous breasts usually have more tissue than fat, and because they grow constricted- that's why you have that cone or banana shape happening.

Unfortunately, plastic surgery with an implant- is the only way to achieve a more round & full looking breast.
Surgeons usually recommend placing the implant under the muscle (dont touch the milk ducts) and a lift.
Although there is a risk with areola incision, that you will not be able to breast feed.

Also something to consider, some woman who have tuberous breasts are unable to breast feed.
Because of the nature of the breast and constriction, it sometimes impairs the milk ducts in some way.
I have heard of some woman, who once unable to breastfeed, could do so after having implants.
Sometimes the release of the tissues help with lactation.

If you are going to seek out a surgeon for tuberous breasts correction...really make sure you do your research. Its so important, since tuberous breasts pose additional challenges- that you get a qualified surgeon.

I got mine done to fix tuberous, and have no regrets and was one of the best things i have done.

Well I found out that my hypoplastic breasts are caused by a pituitary adenoma. Once the adenoma is removed and pituitary function goes back to normal, some women's breasts start developing like normal. I am looking forward to it.

I always thought I had odd looking boobs, as they never looked like the ones you saw at the movies lol or like any boobs that I had seen.. To me thye have always been unwanted lumps of fat.. again like some have mentioned when losing or gaining weight nothing changed with my boobs.. they are the same though. When I wore bras it was always hard to find one that fitted comfortably, i needed something like a 44B.. now I wear a compression vest to give me a male chest appearance as I am trans.. I would love a flat chest would save me having to go for an operation to remove them and give me a male chest.. My endo at the gender clinic is testing me for congential adrenal hyperplasia and in one of the links it mentioned hypoplasia could be linked to the adrenal hyperplasia...
