    Default Could I be?

    Ovulating, not pregnant!~

I had my miscarriage on August 11th, and stopped bleeding from it on August 21st.

With my first m/c, I bled for about two weeks and didn't have another cycle (AF) until 7 weeks later. I don't know that I even ovulated in between?

But today I've had some heavy duty EWCM....if I'm not about to ovulate, then it must be an infection, right?

You certainly could be. I ovulated on my own (first time since right after going off BCP) after an early miscarriage.

It's just amazing to me that someone could potentially get pregnant two weeks after a miscarriage. We hadn't planned on preventing, because we've always conceived using Clomid, and we weren't going to use Clomid for a few months so that we could get our acts together physically and mentally before trying again. Now I'm wondering if we should use protection?

    *current pregnancy mentioned*

We were supposed to be using protection. The only reason we didn't was because it was the middle of the night and neither of us were exactly awake or thinking clearly (believe it or not, this situation happened exactly twice).

I have to say the first month was really really hard mentally. I was ready to start trying again... I was not yet ready to be pregnant again. I was angry at the current baby for not being the baby I had just lost, while still desperate not to lose this one either. Lots of feelings of guilt and fear. But I got over it (well, not the fear part) and it took me about a month. Of course, I would not change things now.

The reasons they say to wait after an early miscarriage are mostly emotional. I've read web-pages that say your hormones are out of whack too, but they aren't ones backed up with research (and it isn't like our hormones are normal anyway... probably they are more normal after a pregnancy). Physically there can be a problem with thin endometrial lining. We didn't have that problem. I was already in pretty good shape physically and had reached my main health goals at the time so I can't advise there at all.

Really, only you and your DH can decide if and when to start trying. It is a difficult road we travel, as you know probably even more than I. I wish you health and luck.

    Default living child mentioned

Mindi, you could definitely be ovulating! If you don't want to get pregnant yet, use some protection.

Our plan was to wait until Rivi's first birthday to even talk about trying again. We slipped up ONE TIME, and there was Dominici. Personally, I'm glad it happened this way - I don't know when I would have built up the courage to try again if it was planned.

I hope that, when you're ready, you get a quick BFP and have a long, healthy, fullterm pregnancy.

I'm so where Nicole was right now. Finding out I was pg made me miss Eric even more. I'm having trouble bonding, b/c everytime I think of getting excited, I think about Eric and it hurts too much. I'm starting to not be that way, but it's hard.

Ovulating's great though, b/c then you know your body's working. The first time I O'ed after Eric, I told everyone. They thought I was crazy, but it's great when your body works right. It gives you hope for the future, however far away it is.

Mindi, with my 10-week loss 2 years ago, I ovulated exactly 21 days after my D&C and didn't get in between. Had tons of EWCM and confirmed ovulation through temping. (I had an MMR immunization so we were preventing the 3 months after the D&C.) I wasn't even on Metformin at the time!

In fact, I o'd exactly 4-5 days AFTER my OB and I calculated my HCG levels would hit zero. Looks like our prediction was right on target.
