We adopted our dd thru foster to adoption in Houston. She came to us at 6 weeks old. We were actually interested in older school aged children. But in our county we had an abundanced of babies. I was asked several times to a baby but I was not prepared so I declined. But for some reason when they asked about dd my dh said yes without asking me. I was at work. I had to call my Mom to see if she could watch her during the day. Anyway, we fell in love the minute we saw her. But she was a foster baby and it was the hardest job I ever had. Taking the children to see their bios, hearing the sad stories, taking the children to dr's visits, loving and losing them. But I loved every minute of it. And I never prayed so much as when I was a foster parent. And my home was never empty. I wish you and your dh the best in your decision. Try: www.fosterparents.com It is a great resource if you get into foster/adopt. Good luck!

Hi Lady, we adopted in Houston. And wanting for an infant did not take long. As our county needs more homes that take infants. Keep in mind that some infants are part of a sibling group and if you are willing to accept at least 2 children than you have a greater chance of being called. Are you going thru Harris County? If so you will be very busy -unfortunately (I say that because it is unfortunate that children are suffering)
